Which is almost 200kgs more than a 172 Cup. Dont you think carrying around the equivalent (sp?) of a full oil drum, or about 30 stone would affect its acceleration?
And the JCW have only just started getting 210bhp havent they? Before that they were 197/200 werent they?
Tell you what...why...
EXACTLY the same happened to me in the first few months of ownership...42 miles remaining...2 miles later I ground to a halt.
Its never done it since...and Ive run it for 30-40 miles after the lights come on.
Strange...?
Dont doubt that for a second...but how would they affect its behaviour at or beyond its limit?
Standard height on standard shocks makes for a forgiving, progressive car at the limit...and thats what makes them fun!
Gatsos work by the two photos being taken whilst your car is passing over measuring markers/lines painted on the road. If you cross more lines than you should do at 30mph, you get done, pure and simple. Those lines tend to only be painted on the side of the road that the Gatso is on.
No matter...
I think that looks OK. Id imagine the Renaultsport version would look pretty good too.
Id consider an RS one next time round, if I was to ever get rid of the Cup.
Shouldnt the debate be about whether the friend of Mikes Dad with the 911 can drive?
A well driven 172 would whup a badly driven Boxster/911 all day long...wouldnt it (I know I have)?
Stats sadly mean so little...
What they give you for your car is irrelevant...its the difference between their offer to you for yours, and the cost of the new car that matters...the "cost to change" your car.
My 172 Cup is stripped out (no back seats) and the whirring youre on about I clearly hear every single day.
To me it sounds like a fuel pump priming or something...it comes from under the floorpan back near the spare wheel well.
I cant say they all do it... but Id be surprised if they didnt...
I had the Ford version on my Mondeo and it was noticeable how much it got in the way if I ever forgot to turn it off.
Theres roundabouts passing Chichester that are badly "dished" like a little ramp as you exit left. With TC enabled, it would ease off and brake for you as you went over it...
