A539s are progressive - you get a good feel for whats going on at each corner. Ultimate grip is lower than others, but if the feel enables you to get more out of them...whats the problem.
They are sh*te in the wet though unless youre really smoooooth.

Mine has only once had normal supermarket 95 RON in it, and the difference it made when idling was dramatic...was really lumpy, and became tricky to make smooth progress in slow moving traffic.
Apart from that its been Optimax all the way.
Once youve run a session check the sidewalls on each corner and adjust pressures to get the wear to the edge of the tread pattern - if youre on the sidewall...more air.
