Re: took every 1's break advice and..
I fitted the exact same stuff to mine last week, brembo max discs and the mintex extreme pads. Haven't really had a chance to test them yet but they seem good so far, and no squeeling to report.
The 16v Mk2s use the same front brake setup as the...
Cambelt comes as a kit and it just over 100 notes. The aux belt is all seperate, you don't need to touch the aux belt idler/tensioner unless its making noises.
Yup, nothing untoward looking. Now i've been listening to it it sounds like something rubber like a gaitor being compressed and uncompressed sort of a poppy noise (good description lol), although when you look at everything theres no marks or bits of crap that have been rubbed off anything on...
Glad to be of service, need to do mine and the cambelt when the weather warms up a bit. The belt is the cheap bit its the idler/tensioners that cost an arm and a leg.
Yup living it up just down the road in nuneaton, should sort something out so you can convert me :). Never even been near a dCi let alone in one.
That and you might be able to tell me what my annoying mystery suspension noise is :rasp: :D.
I've got 15x7s fitted with 195/50 15s and zero scrubbing, even fine now its lowered. Although you'll need to have the right offset as there isn't much room for error.
The dCi100s have a blue Ci bit on the badge. I always hear from the dCi owners how they can keep up with much (on paper) quicker things and i'm not interested in any arguments but when you look at the stats I just can't see it.
1.6 ...
If the immobiliser is part of the alarm then don't go cutting wires for a start. You'll need to establish where and how the immobiliser is immobilsing so you can circumvent it.
Well mine does something very similar when it wants to and i'm 99% sure its the clutch release bearing failing causing it, which would have been part of the clutch kit you bought.
Hmm. Do you know exactly which part they've ordered?
I doubt they'd have ordered a new gearbox without telling you especially considering cost, what did they say they have ordered ?
And what was the problem initially?
Gearbox is shite in the 100 though, ratios are all over the shop apparently only really good for motorway crusing. That and if you start tuning them it'll kill the clutch/gearbox pretty quickly with the torque.
A tuned 80 is probably a better bet.
Managed it fine, just had to take it steady. 9/10 roads had been gritted round here anyway. Though did have to go for some sidewards empty car park action on thursday night.
Eagles are the daddy imo. Will be using them for a while yet, best tyre i've had the pleasure of using yet and at £45 a corner fitted at the local tyre place for 195/55s and £35 each from my tyres i'll be sticking with them yet.
185/55 is a less common size hence them costing more whereas...
Probably is just the difference between the two, I had a modus courtesy car with a mega light hydraulic clutch and silly light steering a few weeks ago and it was sooo wierd getting back in the Clio.
I put a QH one in mine and it looks like the release bearing is starting to fail after 9k miles, so i'd deffo fit an OE valeo one. As said GSF should be able to get one, thats what i'll be putting in mine when it finally gives up the ghost.
I'm using the reference 5010cs jobbies. The silver surface mount holder is the one i've used, you can press it through from underneath and then used the glue to secure it. Otherwise they drop out when you try to put the dash top on.
Top of the glovebox is about the only place for the crossovers...
Crossovers are velcroed to the top of the glovebox under the dash, used one of the tweeter surrounds that came with the infinity components i'm using and that fitted into the oem position in the dash then I used hot glue to secure them.
