182 Titanium Yorkshire B Road Project

Ah right I get you. Does it have any adjustability in it? I'm running the PMS aircon delete kit and they say to check the tension and adjust regularly.

182 Titanium Yorkshire B Road Project

How old is the aux tensioner on it? If that's seized up it may have been causing the belt to slip.

    Gearbox oil change-whats that pipe?

I usually just use a bit of hosepipe with a funnel shoved in the top. Not fancy but you can easily feed the hosepipe into the fill hole without too much fuss.

Cheaper than getting another recovery truck out again 🤷‍♂️

    Paul’s Pearl

If you have lost the bottom arm bolt, it looks like you can still buy them new from KamRacing: https://www.kamracing.co.uk/renault-oe-wishbone-bolt-nut-renault-megane-mk2.html...

172 C.U.P. (Complete and Utter Poo)

This is how my Vibratechnics mount looked when I installed it last year, if its of any help to you? I found that when installing the whole mount, its easiest to loosen off that little rubber one that sits on the subframe, and then start pushing stuff around until it starts to line up. It...

    The PH1 172 Appreciation Thread.

So I've scrolled through over 570 pages of adverts in the For Sale section, and I'm now up to 72 cars which I think is pretty good going! Unfortunately due to the death of Photobucket and other image hosting sites, I really struggled on some of the earlier ads as all the photos have been deleted...

Engine/Gearbox Mounts - Best options and where to buy?

I just fitted the purple bushes to the engine mounts, and even they caused quite a bit more NVH. I've read online that the black bushes are even worse, so bare that in mind.

Engine/Gearbox Mounts - Best options and where to buy?

I find that the TRW or FebiBilstein stuff works just as well as stock I've had no problems with them. I fitted the Powerflex mounts to my 197, they are much stiffer but increase vibrations into the cockpit by a lot!

Engine/Gearbox Mounts - Best options and where to buy?

Renault Parts Direct and KamRacing are my go-to's, they'll nearly always have the parts you want. Can also use code "rpdfree" for free shipping too. https://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/parts/engine-parts/8200777542/...

    The PH1 172 Appreciation Thread.

I'm aware of how incredibly autistic this is, but I've had a lot of spare time at work at the moment so I've been trawling the internet in the hopes of recording every single Pearl Black Phase 1 that was sold in the UK. Currently I'm at 50 cars out of the potential 117, but I know there were a...

    Oil pressure gauge feed

The original sensor screws into the back of the T-piece, so you retain the factory sensor. You'd run the secondary feed out the side of the T for the pressure gauge.

I’ve been a headtorch warrior for the last few years but figured it was time for an upgrade :ROFLMAO: If Powertoolmate does a 10%off Milwaukee sale again, I’ll take the leap and buy it!

    The new tool thread

Anyone recommend a good under-bonnet light bar? I was looking at getting this milwaukee one as I've already got a couple of M12 batteries, but happy to hear some suggestions from others! Ideally it would need to be rechargeable/battery powered as I don't have any electrics in my shed...

    The PH1 172 Appreciation Thread.

Edwin has been posting in the Clio 172 ph1 owners page on Facebook, asking for little bits of advice. Also he posted on his instagram the other day with the head fully off the engine, so clearly it needs a bit of work.

    F4R 172 Cup engine questions

    Auxiliary belt tensioner issue

Just replace it. They're meant to have a fresh belt and tensioner every 3 years so it's worth doing. If you leave it, you run the risk of the aux belt snapping, wrapping around the crank pulley causing all sorts of expensive damage.

What's your favourite car related YouTube channel?

I had to turn that off after 2 minutes, I hate it when podcasts have shite audio quality. It's the same as the Dirtfish Rally Pod, I always want to listen to it but they're determined to record it in the loudest surroundings they can find.

    Ph1 revival

Might be worth sending ED an email to check, means you'd avoid pulling the engine back out like I had to do lol £250 doesn't seem so bad considering you can't buy the ph1 shafts anywhere now!

    Ph1 revival

How much was the driveshaft refresh? Mine are looking quite tired now and could do with some sprucing up. Also make sure the clutch you're fitting works with the lightened flywheel. I made the mistake of fitting a stock clutch the first time around, which wouldn't engage any of the gears. Ended...
