New tyres tomorrow so I loaded up the wheels in the car. Who needs an estate car?
Also found the steering wheel trim I bought a year or so ago.
And I fitted the new number plate lamps. Turned out both the old ones had broken covers so now I have 2 nice clear ones and no led bulbs in sight.
Still got the exhaust to swap and diffuser to refit so pics to follow.

I can't decide if the car is too low or not now🤔. It's not rubbed yet which is surprising because they are close!
Fitment is good though, maybe needs a little spacer at the back?
And yes they are 18's with 225/40 conti sport 7 and even though they are megane fitment they needed spigot rings that on don't have. Luckily the tyre place do alloy wheels and they found some the correct diameters but they needed a bit of fettling so they weren't proud of the wheel mounting face. After that it went on the alignment thingy and some slight adjustment to the front toe was required.

Thats better 👍. Miraculously the front camber is pretty even and the rear is decent too. Next year I'll look into modding the suspension turrets so I can actually get to the top mounts and shock adjusters as being a late 200 it's got the small top mounts.
Annoyingly the door handle has come apart and doesn't want to stay in one piece so I might have to look out for a replacement.
Nearly there with it now and I'm looking forward to enjoying it for a while.

The interior door handle just wants to match the exterior one in uselessness. I went out to clean the windscreen since driving into the sun it was greyer than all the cataracts in Africa and was surprised that the passenger door sensor works perfectly. f**king drivers side one won't unlock though 🙄.

Looks great mate and Turinis are the best wheels.I would get a set for mine if i could find a mint set,i think height wise.Maybe raise it a little bit more but all good apart from that.
I've done about 60 miles in the clio now. It took ages to figure out how to pair my phone with the Alpine hu so I don't have to put up with the radio only to discover one of the front speakers has died. It's started on the button every time and runs sweet and then when I got home yesterday...

Someone suggested the creak could be the steering rack bush needing some grease. With the suspension on its several swear words more difficult to remove the rack boot to get at the bush. I got it done eventually and all seemed well, for a day or two and then the creak returned. So the clio was retired again over Xmas until the return to work this week and the threat of snow. Creak remains and sounds like it's coming from the drivers side and annoyingly it doesn't happen when the cars jacked up with no weight on the wheels 🤔.
Today it sounded like the thing was falling apart and I was convinced whatever was making the noises was finally going to reveal itself. It sounded like a big stone hitting the windscreen, and then again and again, very odd. After another trip out the new noise was identified as the radio cracking through the speakers, I only listen to Spotify and when the satnav interrupts the music it occasionally creates the noise. Seems like the old alpine hu could be on its way out. I never liked that crappy thing anyway. I might just start driving with my headphones on and ignore all the noises for a while😂. The centre caps were easy to fit at least 👍.

Same garage that did the other side when I got the car.
Also brand spanking new with the BC coilovers. I'm going to have to investigate though because it's getting on my nerves now 😖.
You running the BC bearing top mounts? They are f**king noisey! Awful in fact
I am. But my creaking happens when I steer and the struts don't rotate so it can't be the top mounts. God I hate cars 😡.

Not read the whole thread but I had a squeaking/creaking noise that seemed to be from the suspension. Long story short, it turned out to be the top engine mount.
Fixed the horrible creak last week and it hasn't returned. I've used the clio all month and it even managed a 70 mile round trip to The Motorist last weekend to meet @Pedrosanpb and it's behaved prefect. I had my son turn the steering while I had a listen and a feel under the car to locate the source of the creak. It was definitely low down steering rack area but surprisingly was from inside the car. A liberal spray of WD silicone on the steering column universal joint quickly silenced annoyance. How annoying and very strange. I do have an occasional knock from the drivers side which the garage can have a look at as the cars booked in on Tuesday for the exhaust swapping finally.
With a dry day today I decided to give it a wash, it's first since September 24! 😂 Twas mucky😞.
After washing the roof 3 times!
It's still covered in spots of god knows what. It'll need as good decontamination when the weather is better. Still it looks a bit cleaner 😊.
Didn't have time to wash both so might take the M2 to the immigrants on Monday 😂.

It does, but I'm thinking they may be better silver 🤔.
RAC man is minutes away now and it's blowing a gale and I've been awake since 2pm yesterday so I'm not feeling inclined to crawl on the floor at the moment 😂.

A little catch up before I address what's happened. Obviously the reg has changed! I spotted CL10 PRL on the dvla a long time ago which was perfect for the car but I was busy planning a new patio etc so never got around to buying it. Then it was gone and it's actually on a pearl white mk3 RS! Fair enough. I was then torn between PRN and PRV and you can see my preference. People tell me they read it as p**n I saw prawn cos I like sea food 🤷🏻.
I had the local garage swap the exhaust the other day. Waaay back in August 24 when the car was laid up and I should have been buying parts it needed I bought a new exhaust. Owners say the mk3 suffers with kangarooing when cold and fitting a performance exhaust makes that worse. I dunno if Renault tweaked the later cars but I've never suffered with that and with the new exhaust on its business as usual. All OK.
Akrapovic Evo manifold back which had spent a year on a track clio and is in perfect condition. I've got the carbon tips too which is why the diffuser is off the car and after a little clean they look mint.
I really am surprised at how good it sounds as I've rarely been impressed with the mk3 whereas my 182 sounded great with it's scorpion exhaust. Before and after;
I also bought some face lift rear lights. Personally I think they look much better and typically as soon as I fitted them it was foggy as f**k. The face lift cars have the fog light in the rear bumper but not on the RS, that's why they have the old taillight design. The reverse bulb can be swapped for a red and the pins swapped in the plug so you have a fog light, but I didn't do that 😂. Maybe I'll do it before the mot's due.
I also bought some tidy oe recaro bases. The drivers side runner on mine is a mess and I don't have the trim on the drivers base either. A guy on the M2 Facebook page bough some clio recaros to go in his M2 so I offered him a few quid for the bases which are in much better condition. I'll fit them when the weather is better and they will make the cabin a bit more presentable as well as restoring the tilt/slide feature of the seats.
Right that's everything upto the tw@ breaking yesterday. I was on my way to work and I heard a series of clunks. It was clear that it was something escaping rather than something thrown up off the road. At work I had a good look under the car and under the bonnet but couldn't see anything obviously missing. So get home and look at the weekend was the plan. After navigating the bumpy s**t show that is Aldwark Lane in Rotherham something else made it's escape and after very slowly navigating the roundabout my steering wheel was off centre when I was going straight. I parked it and rang the RAC. Now I know breakdown companies get bad rap and sometimes it's well deserved. This time it's well deserved. I couldn't report through the app so had to ring and speak to a person. So after explaining that there's a problem with my suspension and or steering why would you send a pleb in a van who's unable to fix it and tow it instead of just sending a flatbed to recover me? 2 hours after I finished my 13 hour nightshift he was on his after having jacked the car up and decided something was loose. That's all he did. Half an hour later I got a notification that id be recovered between 1 and 4pm. 40 mins later I was on a truck on my way home that I'd arranged myself. Useless c***s. The clio is now in my garage awaiting inspection. It may happen tomorrow or it may be next year, I'm undecided atm. Suspicion is the bottom arm bolt has either escaped or broken, dunno where I'm going to find another that's the case?

Yep that's not right. What could be causing it🤔. At first glance all the nuts and bolts seem to be there still. But then...
Oh dear. The third one holding that on was loose too. There's a good chance that this is the side I had new swivel bearings fitted to and was fully stripped down 🙄. Now correct me if I'm wrong but those bolts are no 15 and that does say 10nm!
They are bolted through an aluminium casting and it's not solid and I definitely did them tighter than 10nm because that's what you do the milk bottle lid upto.
