Need to get the wipers off, complete as I need to get under the scuttle panel....obviously I've removed the nuts etc, but do I just need to pull hard to get them off?
Any damage to be caused?
This is gonna be awesome, banded steels are the choice of legends.
My opinion:
Get the side strips smoothed too though dude, and the number plate recess on the front.
Smoothe the boot handle thing, but not the numberplate as otherwise it looks way too plain, need something there to break it...
Cheers Doug, they were awesome but no need for them now so I thought I may as well get rid.
Super light too!
I ruined them a bit doing them matt black looking at it, should have left them how they were but you live and learn I guess, the new owner has interesting plans with them!
lol if I asked nicely!!
Turinis will be staying, other wheels will probably be for when I get bored of them! 1 set in bright silver, the other in anthracite!
I get around 32mpg, on pretty clear roads going 6 miles to work, thats driving nice and steady cos it isn't warm, I think 35mpg may be a little optimistic.
^ I'm torn on Anthracite as before or Silver for them to be honest, I'm thinking a nice bright high power silver, but Anthracite does look so good.....
It did sit better on the AST's, but in a way I prefer it now, feel like I'm growing up a bit (20 haha) and after a more standard kind of car!
Easier to change wheels and run spacers, wheel sits straight on them and stay on while you mess fitting the nuts, instead of balancing it on and finding a hole for the original bolts.
Just makes it that bit easier.
Personally I'd not go for anoidised ones, think it may look a bit tacky, unless they were anodised black or something...
The rally deisgns stuff is quite good quality, i bought some for a mock up college project I'm doing at the minute.
^ Which Lambda would you say Haz?
I paid 50 from GSF for my new one, Bosch too.
Remember to ask for owners club discount Paul if you buy from them. GSF are cheaper than CES when you take away the 10% discount.
Not good paul :(
There are 2 Lambda's, 1 pre cat and 1 post cat. If you havent noticed a big drop in fuel economy then it makes the pre cat lambda a less likely cause, and the post cat is purely to turn the dash light on.
If theres anything I can help with let me know, not spoke in a while!
Thought I'd track the changes my car has taken over the last 8 or so months since I bought it, and the changes I have had with it!
Started off 99% bog standard inAug 08, with just a 307 splitter fitted:
Had done 35070 miles when I collected it :)
Next change were some Eiback...
Sportlines in my opinion are awesome, I went sportlines>H&R's>AST's now iv got some more sportlines in the post, best price v performance I think.
I would get some AST topmounts too, so you have a bit of adjustability in Geometry, which is where I will go with mine I think.
Get it pro set-up...
I went from 182 cup wheels to lightweight 15' ones.
Saved 24kgs overall including tyres, handling was a bit more improved, more responsive.
Plus going to 195/50/15's gives a bigger sidewall, so a bit comfier on the roads.
Thanks for the info Ben.
Do you have mapping facilities at yours (assuming this is where fitting will take place) so it could potentially be a drive in standard drive out modded car within a few hours?
Or will a trip to RSTuning be mandatory?
I mean general information about the benefits of this type of set up compared to the standard intake, I know you havent released much about this particular one yet.
An hour, may as well be fitted by you then haha if I decide to go ahead with one.
I take it cams would compliment well at a...
:S
Any where I can find a bit more info about it, the inlet teact i mean, my google searches arent returning much.
So a steady weekends work?
Possible mod for the future as the not gonna sell the car now, I'll see the kind of gains and driveability people get :)
Thanks for the info.
Just so I know I'm on the right lines here, the point of this and ITB's is because the inlet tract of the air coming into the engine is a lot shorter, and a lot more direct compared the the standard intake (which has loads of 90 degree bends in all directions) which means the air is smoother...
It will do, i dunno whether to go anthracite or bright bright silver though when they do get redone?
As said, good job they didnt cost much to be done.
Got no money or time for the next few weeks mate, it will be rectified don't worry, but perfection takes time :)
Sportlines bought, hopefully have them before this weekend if I get lucky then I'll fit them when I get some free time.
In the flesh they are a bad cross between the original...
