Mine makes a similar noise albeit a bit quieter until I start it. Also makes all sorts of clicks and relay noises.

Should have black faced dials with red needles and a trip computer. Rev counter should go up to 8k and the speedo 160mph.

The later extreme 4 and possibly the extreme 3 don't come with alloys as standard. Infact thier mising quite a few things from the dynamique spec, whereas the extreme 1 was pretty much a dynamique with a coloured interior. ^^^ Quite like that one tbh. The red dash strips look quite good actually.

^^^ Probably the best option really, because you've got to adjust them right in the first place then you've got to put them back to how they were before. And I can imagine its a minefield.

Its the lack of the trip comp and the fact that it isn't the right dialset not because it doesn't have and 8k tacho its the fact that its the wrong dialset, when you get in a rs you expect to see the proper dialset. I'd smell a rat (even if there isn't one) if I got in one and saw that, why buy...

Yeh its there, I noticed when I was fitting mine. Should be able to see it easily enough, not sure how sucessful you'll be at adjusting the manually though. Its a little white allen socket which adjusts the horizontal angle of the entire lense including main beam and the xenon projector.

Well for one the trip comp is on the standard 172 spec even the cup has one and every 172 i've seen including imports have had the normal rs dialset so I was just curious as to why this one was different. And the last mark may be 7250rpm but its practically off the gauge and they look crap...

How much are you wanting for the 172 wheel (silver insert) ? Not 100% sure what there worth.

Yeh but most people seem to call the mk2 ph2/3 the mk3 as they don't know any different, it just looks different to them.

The mk2 172 and 182 (square) airboxes are the same afiak, the mk1 172 one is different (circular).

I had issues at 28k with an oil seal, although the gearbox itself was/is (i hope still) in very good condition.
