Make of that what you will.
Having never driven a 1.4 I couldn't compare but its a rocketship compared to my old 1.2 16v, what I have noticed is that it never really comes on cam like my old 1.2 used to. That used to very noticably pick up after 3k, this on the other hand just pulls from pretty...
Well the haynes manual says the later model K4M engines had vvt and doesn't give a date or anything, i've assumed that as the >Nov 02 1.6s were in grp 8 instead of 10 and have a book mpg of 39 instead of 40 that that was when then changed not 100% sure though.
Well you'll probably need the gearbox as the 1.4 uses the JB1 box and the 1.6 uses the JB3, would have thought renault did it for a reason.
The 1.4 and 1.6 engines are the same engine but with the 1.6 having a longer stroke to get the extra 0.2l, apparently the later 1.6s (11/02>) have the VVT...
Yeah that sounds exactly like what i'm experiencing, don't get the lights dimming though will have to try giving it a rev and see if it goes to the high idle.
Still has started on me 1st time so far too so i'll see what happens, will probably take it to renault anyway just incase they are...
I've having a issue with my 1.6 at the moment, 9.9/10 times I start it it doesn't run the high idle and when I change gear the revs drop off practically instantly and I'm having to blip it when I change gear to keep the changes smooth although it doesn't stall.
Though every once an again when I...
Would of thought you would have at least needed a 1.6 disc rear axle, and its probably more hassle than its worth and would cost a fortune.
Might be simply a case of swapping the drums for discs and calipers but I would have though it was more involved than that.
Yeah discs all round was an option that no bugger seems to have had on the ph2, I spent a while trying to find one with all round discs but gave up in the end.
The ph2 uses a fly by wire throttle, not 100% but I think the ph1 uses a cable throttle.
Other than that I don't think so although the haynes manual seems to think later ph2s come with the 1.6 VVT engine though i've found nothing official to prove this and you can't see the cam pulleys either...
Might be an idea to post something in local meets forum, not everyone will see it in here.
Theres that many of us from the nuneaton/hinckley area it would be silly not to organise something.
Yeh Renault can supply new keys, think they have to come from France though and cost £100+. Probably best to ring your local dealers and see what they say.
Never seen one with two probes, get the mirror cover off the back and check which one is wired in. Will probably only be the passenger one i'd imagine.
Spotted turning out of gipsy lane towards the A444 griff roundabout for anyone that knows it. Was an 04 Petrol Blue 182, looked stunning, so did the nice lady driving it :D.
Don't usually bother with spotted threads but seeing as how many petrol blue 182s there are around I thought it was worth...
The drivers side has the relay in circuit somewhere for the one touch operation, could have damaged that though would have thought they would still use the same fuse. Doubt its gonna be with the fuses under the bonnet.
