    Sleeving cat back to cat

Oh yeah , oooops . I missed that bit haha :o . Chances of the Cat failing are probably slim anyway . I was just thinking if it did , 3 times haha ;)

    Experience with CHIPEX touch up

Imo , it looks a bit expensive for what you get . There used to be a link to a guide on detailingworld years ago which i used and it worked . Just get yourself an aerosol mixed up in your colour , a few cocktail sticks and some 2500 or 3000 grit wet n dry paper . Make sure the chip is clean , no...

    Sleeving cat back to cat

What happens if your Cat should ever fail though ? Then you're gonna have the hassle of having it cut off and a new one welded back on . Just a thought !

brake disc locking when tightening caliper bolts

Nice one . Glad it was an easy fix :D . I've always had to file a bit off the ends of my pads , different makes of pads . Lots of people take the shims out , personally i leave mine in . As long as the pads move freely in the carrier i don't really see the point to be honest . Sorry about the...

brake disc locking when tightening caliper bolts

Just a quick note to add . Off the top of my head , iirc on oem pads there is 8mm of friction material . Someone might come along and say different but i think 8mm is right .

brake disc locking when tightening caliper bolts

I'm off out now . But post back tomorrow if it makes any difference filing off some of the backing plate on the ends , also clean any s**t off the carriers that will have built up . I'll be interested to see how you get on . Make sure both pads move freely in the carrier before refitting the...

brake disc locking when tightening caliper bolts

When you bolt the caliper back on , there is always slight resistance lining it up due to the springs on the brake pads , these hold the pads in position . When you press the brake pedal , does the inner brake pad not move at all ? Sounds to me like it doesn't and it should , therefore your...

brake disc locking when tightening caliper bolts

If the pads were a nightmare to get in , file a little bit off the end of the backing plate so they move freely . Also try removing the little steel shims that they sit in . It sounds to me like the pads are that tight it's not allowing the the carrier to move freely .

    282bhp RB 182 £8500

The last owner spent £28,000 bringing this car up to this amazing spec ! lol .

    New 182 FF owner

Black is what it says it is , Black . Black gold has flecks on gold in the paint . Only 182's came in Black gold , 172's were Pearl black .

    New Key Procedure?

That's ok , you didn't bother me . I wasn't being funny when i said do a search . Just that it's been asked so many times , always with the same answer for a " new key fob " . It's a dealership job . Iirc , it used to be somewhere in the region of £160 or thereabouts

    New Key Procedure?

No . If you do a search it's been talked about umpteen times . You'll need to go to a dealership i'm afraid and part with alot of cash to have it programmed .

    Spray Cans

Auto paint always seem to get good remarks from alot of people on here . http://auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/ Personally i've always used a local motor factors , they've always mixed my Arctic Blue up and it's been spot on . Last time i bought some it was £7.99 for 400 ml .

    Bonnet issue

I don't have the answer to your problem , but if the bonnets about 5 - 10mm proud of the wings it doesn't sound like the bonnet catch is engaging properly . There was a big recall on 1*2's for this very reason , the bonnet could fly open at anytime and basically wreck your car if it hits the...

Rehang door on a 197, wind took it out of wife's hand and it doesn't shut right

I had exactly the same happen to me a couple of weeks ago with my 182 , the wind ripped the door out of my hand . The hinges look ok , i think it might have stretched the metal check strap . I tried tightening it up , which helped a little bit , but it still catches the lock now everytime i...

    Drivers Side Window Auto Up

Mine doesn't either on my 182 , but it did on my 172 . Iirc , there was a thread about it years ago and it turned out most 1*2's didn't have the auto function on the passenger side window . Something to do about safety and not trapping a passengers hands , head etc .... if the driver operated...

Light quickly flashes once on dash when I brake

As said above . It's a very common fault . Mine had been doing it for a few months , especially in wet / damp weather . I checked mine the other day and there was absolutely no corrosion on the connectors , they were like new . So i just gave both connectors a good spray with WD40 and the...

    GU10 LED house bulbs

Like I said in my first post . I've been using mine for over 12 months now with absolutely no issues , failures ..... and compared some of the led GU10's that I've seen , these win hands down . You don't have to pay top dollar to get top quality . I guess some people just can't accept that :rasp:

    GU10 LED house bulbs

Nice one . They really are the best I've seen , for brightness and for coverage . Like i said . A fair of my mates have different makes of GU10 leds and none come close to these . The warm white are very bright and white . There's really no need to spend silly amounts of money to get good...

still having issues with flickering fog light

Mines been doing this for a few months now , especially when it's damp / raining . I checked the connectors on both rear lights today , no sign of corrosion , they actually looked like new . So i just sprayed both connectors with WD40 and the problems gone away now ( fingers crossed ) .

    Exhaust Issue!

Slacken the exhaust mount bracket off , and move it forward , towards to front of the car . It sounds like it's too far back if it keeps working it's way out of the rubber hanger .

    headlight bulbs decisions hmm..

Another vote here for 5000k from http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/d2s-35w-hid-xenon-bulb-set/ Better , brighter light than the oem 4700k imo . If it's a FF 172 it'll have Xenons fitted as standard , if it's a cup it won't , unless someone fitted after market ones . You'll know the difference by...

    Cold start, help!

Mine used to Pop and Bang alot , until warm , then it would go away . I had a leak at the olive joint from the Cat to centre section . It's a common problem for them to leak from there . Maybe check that out . It might need a new clamp ? As said above by others , they do run rough when cold ...

    GU10 LED house bulbs

I've got 8 of these in my Kitchen , in 2 banks of 4 spotlights . GU10 24 SMD 3w , 340 lumens , warm white , 120* angle opposed to your standard GU10's which are usually about 38* angle , so no dark areas as they all overlap . I've been using them for over 12 months now with no issues or failures...

    Decent side lights?

Let me know what you think when you put them in . They're not as bright as the SMD ones that MarcR posted , but i didn't want them that bright . For £2.49 for 4 , I'm Happy :D Have fun installing the offside bulb , it's a bugger if you have big hands lol . I ended up cutting and extending the...
