    Gloucester(shire) (old) spots

its all pointing towards a duff injector. Will hopefully diagnose and change it this weekend. Glad its not my daily car, having a second car has been a god send recently!!

I know the exact one you mean. It parks/lives opposite my parent's.

Running on 3 cylinders and blowing exhaust - linked?

Have had a P0201 error back in August - car was sat unused for a week in the pouring rain. Misfire, three cyclinders and before I could pull over it was fine. It has been faultless ever since, although the car hasn't been used much since as it was taken off the road a few weeks after. The EML...

Running on 3 cylinders and blowing exhaust - linked?

I have seen this thread, I probably should have paid a little more attention to it. I don't have the car with me atm so I can't do anything to it to check (unless my brother is tinkering with it). I am tempted to change the coil pack and HT leads as well as a precaution anyway. Did you replace...

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

Those wheels are realllllly nice. I think I may have found what I want to replace mine with now!

Running on 3 cylinders and blowing exhaust - linked?

Job for next weekend then when I get back home! The OBD reader I have has picked up a previous injector issue and said which one it was a few years back. It seems to work well on the Clio compared to the other cars it has been used on. All these problems have to happen when the car is back on...

Running on 3 cylinders and blowing exhaust - linked?

how do you check for a bad injector? Swap them over and see if the misfire changes?

Running on 3 cylinders and blowing exhaust - linked?

it's not snapped, it just wiggles.

Running on 3 cylinders and blowing exhaust - linked?

Time to start swapping the injectors around to find the bad one?Or I did read somehwere to unplug each injector inturn while running, if it makes no difference then that is the bad one. But I don't really fancy pulling out injector plugs while the car is running! Or I just need to man up I did...

Running on 3 cylinders and blowing exhaust - linked?

Presume the coil pack off my 1.4 daily Clio wont work 😂 From what I can find, there is no evidence of the coil pack being replaced in the huge stack of receipts I have. Car is on 167k miles, so it may be time to change them anyway! Just from past experience and what I have been told...

Running on 3 cylinders and blowing exhaust - linked?

Having issues with the car running on three cyclinders, also idles like a pig. Started with a constant EML Saturday morning, which the OBD reader said "Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected" (I was expecting a crank sensor issue as it hasn't been starting). Car ran fine on all 4 cylinders...

    Kit's Ph1 172

I still need to figure out how to upload pictures direct from my phone! But here is one of the spark plugs, they all look the same Oh and obligatory alignment print out when I got the new tyres fitted :tongueclosed: not sure how the right rear camber can go from OK to bad without it being...

    Front drivers hub nut removal

That's the better bearing iirc, those kind of things I would rather go for a better quality item. GSF do the same bearing and members get discount there. Also be careful when pressing the bearing out, I bent the calliper mounting points on my hub as the bearing was proper wedged in.

    Steering cowling

I thought it was some kind of theft protection to help stop or make it harder to force a screw driver into it. I may rip mine out if others have, it does weigh quite a bit!

    Kit's Ph1 172

I was right, I have had a falling out with the car today.....it's decided to be a three cylinder :weary::rage: after checking all plugs, leads and injector wiring and resetting the EML it was running fine, I left it idling for ages. Then went to drive it, got less than a mile and EML came back...

    Kit's Ph1 172

I think it is a better piece of kit, it looks a lot sturdier. Also doesn't hang as low underneath the car as Whiteline. From what I have driven the car it has made a big difference.

    Kit's Ph1 172

I bought it second hand unused. I paid £160 for it. I think they are £190 new. Is it for your RB? As I don't suggest getting the 22mm one like I have! It's quite stiff! The 19mm is probably a lot better for normal road use. After a bit of looking I the engine bay....crank sensor look fine. I...

    Kit's Ph1 172

Apparently it is a "Random Cylinder Missfire". Great! All spark plugs look ok, cool pack looks fine and so do the HT leads. Need to check the injectors next. Could this be a crank sensor issue?

    Kit's Ph1 172

I have a strong feeling I am going to fall out with the car today.....the EML has now come on. Need to get the code reader out when I get home and see how much this is going to cost me. Then I need to try and sort the exhaust out as a temporary fix. But getting tyres fitted atm, been told have...

    Differences in Ph1 Dashes

Rather you than me!! I don't really fancy taking air bags apart, I can see it going wrong

What does your race car/track car weight?

I don't even know what the paperwork it was to have it weighed, it was like an MOT certificate kind of thing. I know there is loads more to come out of it, just future problems......will be going plastic Windows hopefully this summer. Cage is needed before j start going fibreglass panels.

What does your race car/track car weight?

When I first got the car I am adamant I saw a piece of paper that it came with which said 862kg but I cannot seem to find this piece of paper again.....but I am very sceptical about this figure. I think I can add about 100kg onto that figure! I would like to get it weighed, see how far away I am...

    Differences in Ph1 Dashes

I removed my air bag from mine when I got the top dash flocked and it did leave a hole. So I glued a piece of thin black plastic underneath to cover it up. Pictures in my progress thread if you need.

    What Crank Sensor?

This sounds complex!!! I hate anything electronincs or electrical!!! I may just get what fits without modifications!! WIll have to have a look before I buy and then not get it now
  27. KitsonRis

    What Crank Sensor?

How revised? Will it work in in an old loom if mine isn't the new loom? The car is an X reg originally.
  28. KitsonRis

    What Crank Sensor?

Apparently there are two crank sensors I can get for the Ph1 - a blue one and a black one. I don't have the car at hand to check what one I need, but what is the difference? Think I read somewhere that the blue ones are not as good. But will either work on the car? I think I remember that it is...

Uneven tyre wear - info before I get wheels aligned.

Tyres have now been ordered, so when fitting them I will get a 4 wheel alignment. I am thinking it is alignment, but just wanted to check as I would be annoyed if it wasn't then it is money wasted on the new tyres and alignment!!! Thanks for the advice
