    Injector issues

Euro Car Parts, online price is about £40. That's for a Magnetti Marelli one. Same product as GSF and they want about £60. When I bought one last month the guy on ECP was shocked how cheap it was, just ask for the online price in store. Thinking about it, I have the same issue as you, I may...

This thread is going to be the end of me. My eBay search is now retro cars and I have been tempted so many times.

The 'What MPG Do You Get?' Thread

Got 19mpg on a 15min session at Castle Combe on Saturday!! That is a record low for me. Needs to be worse. Got it back to 35mpg on the drive home. Hopefully will get 45+mpg on the 4 hour drive to North Wales on the weekend like last time I drove up there.

    Old Skool cool cars

It was the first track car at home that we didn't "build". Made quite a bit of money from the old Triumph we built so decided to buy something ready to go. It was pretty nippy. Was the first quick car I ever drove but I never drove it like it deserved. I managed a 59second lap around Llandow in...

    Old Skool cool cars

That was my step dad's. Was built with a 1.6 Cross flow in it then he started it whilst in gear and it hit that bench and damaged the bonnet. But he couldn't get a replacement one so had to get the new style bonnet and then he dropped a 2ltr Blacktop Zetec in it and kept the twin Webber carbs...

    Castle Combe Actionday 2016

That picture is a Roomster....but that Yeti is epic, and he knows how to drive as well. That Roomster was getting smokier and smokier every time I saw it! Did anyone see that 4x4 go around? Think it was a Shogun or something. Totally standard and it made for comical watching. Probably shouldn't...

    Old Skool cool cars

I love retro cars!!! Metro has to be the best. Turned down the oppoortunity to buy a nice MG Metro the other year, but I had my sensible head on and didn't do it. Would have been the perfect daily car The closest thing I have "owned" to a retro hot hatch was the previous track car at home - Mk 1...

    What was here - seatbelts?

Brilliant, I thought it was. I may have to get like a eye bolt or something to clip the helmet net onto instead of a bolt, thanks though

    What was here - seatbelts?

Saw someone yesterday who had a helmet net in the back of a Clio but with no cage. It was fixed to these points. But seeing as I didn't remove the interior from the car, I am not 100% sure what was there before. Is it seat belts? Just so I know I can source some bolts an copy this guys idea with...

    Better gear linkage set up

That is the only thing I can think that it can be. Was just wondering if there was anything else to look at improving.

What have you done to your car today ???

Washed it....for a third time in a week.

    Better gear linkage set up

It could be my inability to change gear. But I was struggling at times to get a gear. But the 5th to 2nd was definatley my fault, I just lent on the gear stick too much going into 4th. I have not touched the gear linkage/bushes/mounts on the car. I am not sure any of the bushes have ever been...

    Better gear linkage set up

I've read that there isn't much performance difference between the track and street versions, apart from the extra vibrations. But tbh with lack of interior and a stiff ride I doubt it could be any worse!!

    Better gear linkage set up

After my track session at Combe yesterday I think the next thing that needs doing is sorting my gear linkage out. I kept missing gears, struggled to get it into second going into Bobbies and ended up going through it one handed, coasting trying to get any gear. Not ideal. And I also got 2nd gear...

[Apr 2, 2016] CS Areas Day @ Spring Action Day (Castle Combe)

I also agree. Was probably the best/well behaved action day I have been too. I don't think I saw an acident all day.

    Kit's Ph1 172

So a bit more about yesterday as I am on my computer now, I hate using my phone as the Google App doesnt work well for the forum. Weather could not have been better, I definately caught the sun. So track time.....was amazing! I thought the 4pm slot would be quiet, no it wasn't. I got mugged by...

After the track session today at Combe all of the work that has been done this winter makes perfect sense. The car is totally different to what it was and is so much better. It has highlighted some areas for improvement and I can't wait to get started on them!!

[Apr 2, 2016] CS Areas Day @ Spring Action Day (Castle Combe)

Yes!!! The Ph1 is good to go. I'm picking my friend up in Bath at about 9am and then heading over. It's going to be a long day otherwise seeing as my track time is 4pm. If there are any spare track passes/any one can't make it can you please let me know, my step dad would like one.

EXHAUST PHOTO! I am in love with it. Any one want an exhaust, go get one from Infinity. The guy who fitted it was very complimentory over the home made exhaust mount, said it was the best he had seen. This made my brother happy as he made it. Tiger Seal ftw Also had a quick wash. But...

    Misfire lumpy idle

When it is missing and running on 3 cylinders unplug each injector one at a time. If it goes to 2 cylinders then that injector isn't faulty. If there is no difference then that is the faulty one. But this will only work if it isn't intermittent. This is how I diagnosed mine, along with a OBD...

    Lumpy Idle....coil pack?

I changed one two weeks ago, but it was really cols so the push o-rings were really stiff and hard to do. I got numb fingers lol

    Lumpy Idle....coil pack?

I thought so too! Please don't be another injector as it is such a pain. Hmm...may change the coil pack anyway to see. But these symptoms are different to what I have had before so I thinking was I fixed that and something else has cropped up

    Lumpy Idle....coil pack?

I know that, that is what happened before when I had to change the injector. But I thought the lumpy idle was coil pack, but why would the EML start flashing if the coil pack is dodgey? Car was left idling for a bout 5 mins before the EML started to flash I checked all the connections to the...

    Lumpy Idle....coil pack?

After replacing the injector the other week sometimes there is a bit of a lumpy idle when cold. Doesn't do it all the time, think its done it about twice since replacing the injector. Idles at just under 1k and it bounces around a little, like an RS2000 does. Then the EML started to flash after...
