    Nice pics mate .

    172 cup wheels why..

Different offset . Iirc the 172 wheels are ET37 and the 182 wheels are ET45 meaning the 172 wheel sticks out further and would catch the wheel arch.

    Remap: Do you Believe....

17/18 bhp would be very optimistic on a standard car . Your more likely to see those sort of gains after you've fitted a decent exhaust , decat , air filter and had the inlet manifold reworked then remapped imo .

    Just put spare on

Could be the new tyre ( nearside ) has more grip therefore pushing the car to the right .

    182 Poor Brakes

I've just come back from Poland where i hired a fiat panda . The brakes were so sharp , needed little effort on the pedal and from high speeds they stopped effortlessly with alot of confidence . Also hired a pug 107 a few weeks back and the brakes on that were hell of alot better than my 182's...

    Brake fluid

By bleeding i mean't changing the fluid . I wouldn't wait 4 years , lol . 12 months tops for me especially if you do average mileage of around 10 -12k a year . Any dot 4 will be sufficient . Castrol response is good stuff .

My auto lights dont auto work

You don't need the key in the ignition , even though the manual tells you you do . Just turn your lights on / off / on / off quickly to activate or deactivate the auto lights . As said , you'll hear it beep .

    Winter Wheels/Tyres

^^^ Knowsit . When , on the odd occasion we get snow you see all the cars on skinny 165's and less cruise through the snow , wider tyres is the wrong way to go . Like jamie williams says . Same tyres as you use all year round , we don't exactly live in a country that warrants winter tyres .

    Brake fluid

If your brake fluids quite low , either you have a leak , your discs could be worn or your brake pads are getting low . I'd be inclined to think the latter . You can top it up but after checking your pads / discs i'd do a full bleed like legohead says .

    Finally colour coded

Looks good mate . Glad to see you finally found some paint that matched . Did you end up doing it yourself or a body shop ?

    Cigarette burn in 172 seat

I used these guys to do a smart repair on a fag burn on my alcantara . Cost me £40 to repair the hole and recolur the leather on the bolster . The hole was invisble after it was repaired :) http://www.trimline-systems.com

    Dings and dents!!

Seems like an average price is around £30ish per panel , but less is you have a few panels . The guy i used took out 2 in the roof , 1 on the drivers door and 1 on the rear passenger quarter panel all for £60 .
  20. MRBILLYUK

    Dings and dents!!

Depends where the dent is . If you don't know what your doing , even with the right tool(s) you can end up making it worse or even crack the paint . Like i said once before in another thread . I took out a dent on a rear quarter panel with a decorators seam roller , but it was easy to access...

Could 17" Alloys affect the speedometer reading??

Of course it affects it . Any deviation from the standard wheel / tyre size will give an inaccurate speedometer reading . Check this out : http://www.alloywheels.com/tyrecalc.asp

    172 Sport Standard Exhaust System

Thats what i was led to believe also . When i had my 172 i went to the local ATS and they told me they had to get it from Renault . That was about 3 years ago though . Maybe there are some manufacturers of replacement 172 exhausts now ?

Another Standard Exhaust Bites The Dust!!!

I had to do exactly the same lol , cut the bugger off . I'd just go for a full stainless catback . I had a stealth from powerflow in Burnley . Top blokes and only £270 fabricated and fitted , plus lifetime warranty . Sounded good as well :)

    aerials

The civic aerials aren't a perfect fit . The base of the aerial is slightly wider than the fitting on the roof , so it slightly overhangs .

    that thing on the windscreen

Its a french thing apparently . Its a gap in the reflective coating for automatic toll boths .
