Personally mate i would save yourself £100 quid and get a panel filter. Performance wise you wont notice a difference and if your going for a nice induction sound as opposed to performance a cheaper open cone would be better. £100 could be better spent elsewhere...brakes? suspension? Short...

He would have quoted you for the samco silicone hose kit. This isnt the induction elbow mate. This is a set of 2 (could be 4) engine coolent hoses. That price seems about right to me. The induction kit elbow should be about £45 with a CS discount from memory

I really doubt he will get insurance for less than a grand hun, £1500 would be a bargain for him imo. Gutting i know but insurance has just gone up for young / unexperienced drivers also so that wont help his case

Privelidge usually come in about 50-100 quid cheaper than directline and churchill even tho all part of direct line in my experience

The horror story of my 172 with the renault friday afternoon engine in it. Started life as 158bhp. After mods and £1500 later... 167bhp and not the best power curve :S So much for the standard 166.6bhp or whatever they should be

Personally mate i would be throwing the car back at them on monday and telling them that you want it back in the condition it was before the problem. I.E. no engine knocks, all esp etc working and also i would try and get the belts done by saying that they did have oil on them as you saw the oil...
