Thats good, glad youve been talked out of it. Hopefully more people can and Sony will get their act together and start making some good stuff like the used to, stuff like i have in my setup.
Most amps with the exception on JL and a couple more run at different power at different ohms. If you put a 4 ohm sub onto an amp it will ran at 500watts for example, if you give the amp a 2 ohm load then the amp will run at 750watts. and so on.
Subs are not classed as being x ohm stable that...
Personally i would always try and make the subs face the rear windscreen in a hatchback, it does make it sound better it gives the bass a hard surface to reflect off of..
If it is a not a hatch you should more than often face the subs towards the rear of the car, i.e. out the boot.
We have been fitting some nice Polk subs in lots of cars recently and they sound absolulty amazing. I was so impressed I went and bought two of the Momo range. The subs i suggest are the GNX range

Dont agree with that 50% thing.
Basic rule if the Sub is 500watts RMS then put a 500watt RMS amp into it. You can use different watts but the basic rule is to match the RMS watts.
A guy that comes into my shop get work done at SG and hes not very happy with it at all. My car is in a Koncept Development in Darnly, they seem good but have taken a v very long time to do mine. Calder coachcrafts are meant to be good but v very expensive.

Honestly buddy, you should have a common earth for your amps but not anything else or you DO get interference. Like if your brake lights are on the same earth point and when you put your foot on the break you get a pop through your amps. Keep your ICE earths separate from everything else!!!
Polks are awesome. Not many people have them, really really clear, nice treble not to harsh. However if you did not want to spend too much i would deffo just go for the Kicker 8" mid bass and have a 3way setup at the front and nothing in the back except for subs playing under 80hz as speakers...
The best earth is not the battery. You should always earth your sounds to a separate earth point. Even if you have a battery in the boot you would not earth an amp to the negative terminal. Make your earth as sort as poss. Just drill a hole almost right next to your earth point on the amp and...
Yea i am very impressed with my 4000x, i now have a source that will rival the best and it didnt cost me a fortune either. Ill just need to get it in and see how it sounds.
Yea the A4 is nice, is it still the same as last year. I had a listen to it when it had the W6s in it and then the W7s...
If you are running a set of components active and your tweeters are quite far away from your mids then you can alter the phase to make them blend better together. Also if you are running a sub but invert it so it is facing into the box you switch the phase.
Basically you want all the speakers...
Most after market wheels will be 38. Anyway lower offsets will give better handling. Renault did that to the Cup and Willy over the 172 and 16v to improve handling.
Just fitted amp to one yesterday and yes the is absolutely murder to get the cable through.
I put the through that grommet, you just need to find a way through and once you have feed as much cable through as poss, then take the water bottle off, only 2 10mm bolts and put your hand inside the...
