My fan came on during bleeding once up to temperature, but I didnt run the heaters iirc I bled mine quite late too I think

Turn the heaters off/go for a short drive and take some coolant with you. I just kept the cap off and ran the car for 20 mins whilst squeezing the top hose. Undid the bleed screw again and coolant pissed straight out with no air.

You definitely need to lower the subframe. Basically, undo pinch bolt on rack, remove nearside subframe bolts, fully loosen drivers side bolts. Remove hubs both sides, disconnect ARB, remove shocks as it's easy to. The whole lot then wiggles out the passenger side

Just drop it out the bottom. Much less faff

Probably temp sensor, they're cheap enough to swap out iirc
