    Renault type d coolant

It depends which you've bought. They do a ready mixed and concentrate. If it's a 5l container then yes, it's probably the pre mixed stuff.

    S40 T5 sleeper project

Hmm, that's the first i've heard of the manifold being an issue. They seem to be good for 300 - 330 max on the standard turbo from what i've read on ST and Volvo forums, anything above that requires either the K16 from a Focus RS or some sort of hybrid. I'll take a look into it though!

    S40 T5 sleeper project

Its 100% invisible! I'll get a pic tomorrow. Its being mapped next Monday, then I need to get it back on the rollers to see what increase it's had. I'm expecting it to make 280+ bhp and 330lb-ft but time will tell. The Airbox and exhaust will be my bottlenecks I think.

    S40 T5 sleeper project

No, just fwd. there was an AWD version, but I don't think we got it in the uk. managed to get the intercooler on yesterday! it fits well, I just need to trim a little bit of bumper to get it perfect.

    S40 T5 sleeper project

It depends what you read and who you trust to be honest. I've read they are identical, i've also read that the block was made very slightly narrower to fit the focus hence some issues with cracked cylinders in the ST's. Either way they are pretty much identical bar the ECU.

    S40 T5 sleeper project

When I called in last Friday they called me £54. They did it there and then though, and i turned up unannounced!. I'll be up for a run when you go back, but I think I'll be back there sometime in April to check my progress.

    S40 T5 sleeper project

To be honest it doens't make much more noise than standard. On cold start it is a little louder than normal, and you can certainly hear the turbo spool up when pushing on. But most of the time it's fairly quiet apart from the odd pop/crack from the exhaust and 5 cylinder burble. It kinda sounds...

    S40 T5 sleeper project

The pram in the boot wasn't the issue, the car seat in the back of an R27 is more of a problem. The recaros make it a little difficult from what I've read!

    S40 T5 sleeper project

Yup, I can't find anything near that price for that age and mileage anywhere. That was from a trader too (he knew he'd priced it too low as whilst I was there he received multiple calls for it) I got there within a few hours of it being advertised, paid the asking price and drove away (quickly...

    S40 T5 sleeper project

What's everyone's thoughts on de badging it? It currently has a large VOLVO logo across the boot, S40 on the left and a small T5 on the right. I'm thinking of taking them all off, Shark performance have a badge that I might put on like this

    S40 T5 sleeper project

Its only the the downpipe and decat, the rest is standard. It's very slightly more noisy than std, but still barely audible! Yep, im aware of that, same as the Mazda 3 too, all on the P1 platform. Can swap and change most chassis components, brakes, springs, shocks etc. endless tuning...

    S40 T5 sleeper project

I've changed all the interior bulbs the white LED's ( proper white, not the shitty blue hinted type!), silver indicator bulbs all round, and some led sidelights to match the xenons.

    S40 T5 sleeper project

It sure is, if it makes 280+ I'll be happy. I'm trying to keep it quiet for the wife (she doesn't know I'm tuning it!) so can't really free up the rest of the exhaust or intake, so they might hold me back a little but I'll have only sunk about £1,100 into it including the mapping so can't complain!

And before anyone asks, yes that is a carpeted garage floor! lol that's just how I roll!

It should do for the amount of driving I actually do, but if it starts to slip I'll drop and RS clutch in it.

    S40 T5 sleeper project

that will be later down the line, I've only had it 3 weeks! There's a few pushing 400+ bhp with better turbos etc (focus RS K16 is a common upgrade)

    S40 T5 sleeper project

Evening all, I've recently switched my Clio 197 F1 team to a Volvo S40 T5. Sounds like an odd choice I know, but when you look at the S40 in a bit more detail it makes sense for me. We are starting a family, so a 5 door saloon makes sense, and it's the 2.5 5 pot turbo lump that ford knocked...

    Next rolling rd day

I was up there on Friday gettting my car RR'd before my mods get fitted. They're a great bunch of people and my car made exactly what it should have done! (217bhp & 242lb-ft) I'm heading back there in a couple of weeks after my mods and map. Hoping for 280+bhp and 330+lb-ft this time around!

Portable power battery packs, for charging phones.

I've got a little solar charger that also has a battery built in (holds enough for a couple of charges) and you can leave it int he car window etc to recharge without having to leave it atached to your phone. Paid about £12 from Lidl!

Raspberry Pi - Apple TV 2

I suppose yes, but i've never really like XBMC to be honest, and on broadband the speed of mine I can download a 10gb film in a little over 10 minutes so the preparation isn't really an issue to me.

Raspberry Pi - Apple TV 2

Another vote for Plex & ATV3 here. Does everything I could need. Download TV, Films etc in any format to my PC. Plex converts on the fly and I can watch on ipad, iphone, Apllte TV etc from anywhere in the world (inc over 3g etc). The interface is fantastic, it's fast, excellent quality. What...

Be aware of this vehicle SL57 KWG

Morning guys, I've just spotted my old car up for sale on Autotrader (dealers website link below) http://www.tanyardmotors.co.uk/used-...chester-490614 If you do go to look at it, be aware of the following things it needs: 3 wheels need a refurb There was a dent in the passenger rear...

Does anyone paint brake calipers on hear or tint windows?

No real need for lacquer. I've got a how to thread over on 197.net. It covers stripping the calipers bare (pistons and seals out etc) then preping and painting. Worth a look if you tackle it yourself. Chris

    F7R thoughts?

lol I never touched the suspension on it, kept it std ride height. I think it's slightly exagerated in that picture due to the slope of the ground! It's better on this one

    F7R thoughts?

I loved my old Meggy Coupe! Broke it for spares when the gearbox went though. Didn't seem economical to repair. Went from this to this Sad times.

    sheared wheel nut

Leave it in and just use some 'no nails' on the back of the wheel, that should hold it sufficiently. I jest of course! Has it snapped off flush with the hub? If not you might be able to use a set like this to get it out http://www.screwfix.com/p/irwin-bolt-grip-nut-remover-set-5-pieces/96028...

182 rebuilt , And now it sounds like a Subaru ??? HELP

Sounds exactly how my old Punto GT did when a lost a cam lobe (long story, bad valve guide+seized valve = rounded off cam lobe). THat too would idle fine, and would drive fairly normal until you put your foot down. If the easy basics don't turn anything up (timing, coilpacks, plugs, injectors)...
