    Anyone in Birmingham?

Just don't have the time mate! Getting the Recaro's for a good price, they aren't as comfy as the Cobra's, but they match the rest of the interior:o. In other words, I'm being a bit gay.

    Anyone in Birmingham?

Yozza's north of brum, looking for somewhere I can leave the car for the day and get a cab to work. Think Fred's quite busy at the mo, and I'm always pestering him for help!

    Anyone in Birmingham?

Need to get some bits and pieces fitted to the Clio, anyone know a decent garage in Birmingham? Getting braided hoses and Recaro's fitted. I know I could do them myself, but just don't have the time.

What would you pick? 172ff or cup

If you're driving within your and the cars limits, the electronics are there as a safety net. Given your obvious abilities, how did you get on in Melbourne this morning Lewis;)

What would you pick? 172ff or cup

Fair enough mate, but I'm entitled to my opinion. As an interesting side note, the guy that did my advanced driving tuition (one of the HPC gatekeepers), said that although the theory says ABS isn't necessary, in the real world the ability to brake hard and steer is invaluable. Well done on 3...

What would you pick? 172ff or cup

Or, get a mk1 172. Prob the best of both worlds. More aggresive set up than a FFmk2, ABS, and cheaper to boot. Add some H&R's and I'd wager on it being the better drive than a cup too.

What would you pick? 172ff or cup

Personal preference, I went for a FF because I don't want a car without ABS. I'm sure some people will try and disagree, but there's a huge body of evidence proving that ABS is an incredibly useful safety device. Even the best driver in the world, driving within there limits (only driving as...

    MB Performance Short Shifter Review

Suppose if you were rushing the changes through, but with a normal speed shift would it add any extra wear to the box?

    197 or Megane RS

I doubt either of us have caned these cars over a period of time, especially not back to back. The only road based head to head that I've seen/read (Autocar) had the R26 as the better handling car. Not to mention far quicker on the road.

    182 MPG

24mpg:eek:. Thats closer to what I get on track days than normal driving lol.

Bit dumb, but why would it wear the box out quicker?

    197 or Megane RS

R26. Both good cars, but R26 is faster, better handling.

Any reason for going cup rather than FF?

    182 RB.......stripes on or off

Had them on my RB for about a week. Got fed up with charvs trying it on. Seem to draw a lot of attention as well, better off IMO.

Would you :: Could you? Cat D.

If repaired correctly and inspected, then yeah. Ok, resale will be lower, but you're saving in the first place.

    Eibach Prolines on a 182

Had sports on my 182cup, now got pro's on my 172. I prefer the pro's. They don't lower much, but the ride is more settled, handling is much better. With the sports handling is improved but the ride does suffer a bit. The pro'd 172 feels more settled than the sport'd 182 did on rough/wet roads.

    Mature Drivers

I make 'progress' when appropriate, but don't race etc, and stick to the 30mph limit when appropriate. Think the big difference between now and when I was 17/18, is far better risk assesment. Can't remember the last time I attempted a silly overtake, was a bit silly when I was young.

    Just a few pics

Weird, I was gonna get a CF splitter for my monaco, but I prefer the standard splitter. Typical Renault, bog standard plastic more expensive than carbon fibre splitter.

    New motor

2 cup packs were available, suspension and spoilers, looks like yours has one but not the other. At least you got the important one! I'd stick with the Eibachs, had them on my 182, improved handling, some ride deterioration but not a massive amount.

Performance car mag - it's back! Williams V's 197 cup

think most mag's put the Trophy as the best ever hot hatch, prob why the willi came beneath the Trophy when evo tested them together.
