I think it can be down to bad cam timings? Some cars will have had the belts done now, and if not done properly it can lose power.
ignore the comments about it not being an everyday car, of course it is! It's a Renault clio FFS! Aside from low MPG (25-30mpg for me most of the time) it costs no...
There is a noticable increase in power at around 5k revs in my car......... Not sure why others don't get this?
Yes, a 1*2 will stick with you and probably even crawl past in a straight line, however the 197 is MUCH more capable in the bends. The brakes are better, the suspension is better, the...

Not sure if it's the sort of thing you are talking about or not though.
Just to make you aware, this isn't a 'Cup' as you have put in the title. The Cup was a different car. This is a RenaultSport Clio 197 F1 Team.
PS, Nice car! I'm guesssing this is your first hot hatch and you are young? If so, please be careful as these cars do compensate for a lack of talent -...
8mm?! Seems very small for a spark plug!
Spark plug socket sizes are different to normal sockets, the size on the socket refers to the size of the thread, not the nut size. So, a 10mm spark plug socket is actually a 16mm socket, a 14mm spark plug socket is a 21mm socket.
I would imagine you...
Tyres with a lifetime guarantee?!? Never heard of that before, any further info?
just one piece of advice from me - you would probably have more luck selling without the chavvy headlights and taillights. If you have the original ones maybe fit them?
This would be the first thing on my list

That's very cheap at that price, normally they only drop to £99.
I find the Tivo interface a little bit difficult at times. I use the Tivo anywhere app on the ipad for most of my searching etc, it's so much easier to use.
Irrelevant to your question, but I felt the need to mention it!
A whole week?! No way! lol - Seriously that is no time at all when looking for the perfect car.
My mate has been looking to the 'right' 350z for about 3 months now!
Yeah, about 3,800 revs at 70 I think. Mines a late 2007 and it's 3.5k at 70. You get used to it to be honest, it's not like it really makes a difference.
As above, does anyone local have an engine crane I could borrow in exchange for a few beer tokens? Long shot I know but I don't fancy paying £50 to hire one for 2 days as that seems very expensive to me when they can be bought for £150.
I'm in South Normanton just off junction 28 of the M1...
If you take a look on 197.net it's actually the higher mileage cars that tend to have the least amount of issues with them. Most of the gearbox issues are on low mileage examples. Mine is on 65k, which for a 57 plate is fairly high and it's tight as a drum.
Personally i'd rather buy a car that...
Had a text from my brother today, things seem to have gotten worse. Now seems to be running on 2/3 cylinders. Going to go and have a look/listen at the weekend.
could be head gasket, but as far as I know it's not lost or used and coolant.
Is the address on your insurance policy correct? if so I don't think the V5 will be a problem. They won't even see the V5 unless it's written off anyway.
