Any ideas what this could be? My brothers gf has a 1998 1.2 clio and its using LOTS of oil. It's recently got through over a litre in 300 miles.
it isn't leaking it, so must be burning it. It's done fairly high miles (circa 140k). Could it be rings? Or valve stem seals?
would it be easiest...
Anyone know what the thread size is on the brembo calipers? I'm on about where the brake hose bolts to.
I want to thread a bolt into them whilst off the car so they don't spill fluid everywhere.
Actually whilst I think about it, what thread are the bleed nipples?
Cheers guys.
Why should they though? It's damaged, not faulty. That's like Renault offering you a new car after you have crashed your 172.
Unless of course you meant he would have to pay for it? If so then please ignore my comment!
I'm with you on this, all the 197's that are on <30k miles makes me laugh! Get out there and drive them! There are people that think 10k a year is HIGH mileage!
My car had done an average of 13k a year when I bought it, people thought I was mad!
Agreed, and nobody is disputing that.
I can get 35mpg if I drive at 65-70. I went to Snowdon and back late last year and sat with the CC set to 70 all the way there and back and achieved 33mpg however the trip computer does under read in my opinion. On that journey I brimmed the tank then...
44mpg isn't high 40's though is it? 44 is mid 40's.
I have no problems accepting the mpg is shocking on the 197, i'm averaging 28mpg maximum. What I do object to is claims of 1,000,000 miles to a teaspoon of petrol that seem to pop up on here very regularly. It seems like its the only thing...
Be prepaired for a few return journeys to Mr Clutch.
A 306 GTI-6 I had a couple of years ago had a clutch change by them (before I bought it I might add!) I took it back to them as it was juddering, they replaced it FOC under warranty. 3 weeks later it was juddering again. I replaced it with a...
Then buy it outright. Unless you get finance on 0% then you will be out of pocket. The interest rate on your borrowing will be higher than the interest rate on your savings meaning you will be losing out.
You may be able to get them cheaper but they are £14.75 each here.

Also, be wary if you got to a dealer for the window seals to be replaced. They will insist that the rear...
