In a way I wish it had. I saw the kid driving it the other day who bought it from the garage.
Filthy, curbed wheels all round and looking a bit sorry for itself. I wanted to give it a hug and apologise to it. LOL.
Crazy how attached you can get to a lump of metal. It nearly brought a tear to...
I bought a house dude! This went almost a year ago to my mums friends garage. PX'd it for a Polo and a lump of cash my way.
If there was anyway I could have kept it (and still bought the house) I would have. I got offered a trade in offer I couldn't refuse :(
It is a great car! James (Aluco) spent a fortune on it in maintenace/mods. From what I can tell all the mods etc are still there (Coilovers, PH2 Door mouldings, Cup Spoiler).
His project thread is still on here but none of the photos work now.
And unfortunately in the insurers eyes that's what they've done. They've given him examples of adverts of the same car on the same miles and based their price on that.
Obviously Luke knows that his car was in better cosmetic condition, but unfortunately that doesn't fall within their checks...
The black wheels do nothing for the colour mate.
There was one on here recently with silver Turinis and the colour looked great against the Petrol Blue!
Personally a pet hate of mine.
Anyhow, I have another RS itch so was casually browsing as you do. Came across this car which is fairly close to me. From the ad (as usual) it sounded OK...
I had my Turinis done at CAS Coatings in Bradford.
They did a superb job. I know a lot of other members who have had their wheels done there also, all have turned out well!
They charge £1 per inch. So if your wheels are 16", then it's £16 per wheel!
Late to the party, but I've just installed this today.
I can't believe how 3 year old hardware is still this fast! It runs flawlessly on my 2009 MBP.
An answer in itself to the standard 'Why is it so expensive, when my Dell was 1/3 of the price and is fine?' question from the Apple haters.
The Vee looks a million times better on the silver wheels! Well done.
On the other hand, the 182 wheels have had the opposite effect on the flamer :( I've always been a fan of the standard wheels on them!
Personally one of my favourite looking cars! I'd love one.
And to people saying it hasn't changed much, it's because they got it so damn right in the first place. Similar to the kind of changes Porsches go through. The subtle change however is an improvement.
I like it! Looks really well kept.
I personally like the look of the Curpra R splitter on the front too. It doesn't look like an add-on on the Leon and I can't see if affecting re-sale in any way!
Sounds like a good project with some nice plans. Absolute bargain at that price too!
Where abouts in Leeds are you from mate? I'll keep an eye out for you!
I know what you're saying mate, I really do and personally I despise paying for insurance - one of my pet hates.
However his 1.2 was around the £1000 on insurance...surely that would be 50% of the cars worth too no?
If the guy's happier spending his money driving a car that he wants, rather...
