Yeah ARP rod bolts and valves are already a must.
I don't use the car on the road and have access to another car so doing the work to my current lump is no problem at all.
With a second hand crank though, what stops me buying it and then finding out it's actually worse than mine lol!?
Not for me then I don't think. I'd ideally like a reliable engine that'll happily last me a fair few years.
The thought of getting rebuilds puts me off because I can't do it myself.
Ahhh, Funnily enough this is similar to my cousin's car which he has just literally finished doing. Looks good on this but not sure if I could get on with it on the Clio though.
So if you could change the colour of your car to anything you'd like, which colour would you choose?
A close family member does wrapping for a living so it wouldn't cost me very much at all..
Thinking about a colour change on mine at some point and not sure what I'd like.
Considered storm...
I get this too. Skip to 7:52 in this video and you can hear my noise. See if yours is the same. Happens to me when I go over 100mph ish.

Yeah I get your point Chip-mk1. Finding a good donor engine is also very hard in the first place though isn't it, no idea what condition it's in until it's actually taken apart. Could end up paying top money for a 'good' engine to find out it's just as worn as mine if not more. If that makes...
Yeah I did take a look at their builds, one or two of the options do tickle my fancy, they are VERY well priced too. They're just a bit too far from me, I mean it is do able, it's just a long way. It is an option though. Might call Andy at some point and discuss a build price for what I want...
So when Mike fitted my ARP rod bolts he advised me that my big end bearings were really worn. I didn't take any action there an then because I was off the the ring that weekend.
Now the winter is on it's way I'm planning on sorting something out for the engine. Either rebuilding what I have...
Makes sense, I guess it's a very small amount and would probably evaporate quickly anyway.
Just had images in my head of a proper soaking filter just dripping away lol
Might be a bit of a silly question but.
When it's absolutely pissing down with rain, and your driving along. Surely some water reaches in the grill and soaks the ITB filter..
What stops it getting soaked and then water getting into the engine?
It obviously isn't a big deal otherwise I would...
Be interesting to know what percentage of owners have only actually bought a Clio with the intention of using it on track.
Might be why the 172 cup is priced higher?
