Id never get a Saxo. I looked at a VTS when I was looking for something to replace my 1.4 RT and sat in it for a minute or two then got out. Too cramped inside.
Dunno about the 106 interior, but I think its a stunning little hatch and I know from bitter experience, its a real pocket rocket in...
Walk, walk, shmalk. You bunch of wusses. If the price is right and it looks straight then get it! Obviously you wouldnt pay book price for it, but if you can get it for half that and it looks and drives right then why not go for it?
Its pretty easy to check if the bodyworks right...jack it...
Can you all please email me with your current email addresses? I need to make sure were up to date, and see how things are going with you all...
Cheers!
lol Jon even as I was writing my message I knew you were gonna say that about 172s! What I mean is apart from freak Willys like yours and Craggys, I cant think of any standard cars that would keep with a 172, they just seem a lot easier to drive fast. Just put your foot down and go and thats all...
I went from a 1.4 RT to a 16v, Id always wanted a Valver or a Willy and a few years ago, Willys were 10 grand at least for a good one.
Ive gotta assume youve never driven a 16v. Look one up and go and have a test drive. Itll open your eyes. You wont even think its a Clio, its so different...

Yeah exactly - to get in depth with it, this is what needs setting up to get it totally spot-on:
1. Bottle pressure - needs to be at 950psi / 30 degrees c.
2. Ignition timing - mine is chipped to run 4 or 5 degrees advance on full throttle. A 100hp nitrous system needs 4-6 degrees r****d when...
It really *does* depend on where you go. If you know a friend of a friend wholl do it, it could be all done for under £500. Take it to a proper bodyshop and you could be looking at a thousand. Take it round and get quotes.
Eg. delocking can be easily bodged on the cheap, or done properly with...
hehe yeah but if I was driving around in a new Clio 1.2 or something, Id probably want to make it look like that so at least my mum wouldnt want to borrow it to go shopping.
Each to their own...
An amp under one seat, an 8" sub in a very flat box under the other seat, try and fit 6" coaxials or components into the doors. Run the whole lot off the 4 channel amp.
Thats a lot of miles on a French car whether its a Valver or not!
If the gearbox, cambelt, power steering pump, clutch etc have all been done in the last 50k miles, then it would fetch book price (if I was buying it) - without these Id pay a grand tops, cos youre almost guaranteed that these...
Dont wanna get technical here so Ill put it simply. Good handling is if you can drive smooth at a speed where other cars would be getting scary. Good handling cars dont give you surprises.
The feeling I get in my 16v of my hands and feet directly controlling the front wheels on the road and...
Well according to my records, one of my old times is quite near to that, 60ft in 2.38 sec, 1/8 in 9.88 @73mph. This runs on to a 1/4 mile in 15.26 @ 91mph.
Well Ive been in all three and its pretty straightforward - the Valver is a great hot hatch, handles lovely, enough poke to make it fun, but needs thrashing to make it come alive. Williams just has that extra grunt to make it easier to drive and quicker out of the box. 172 quicker than both and...
The Williams/16v steering wheel is gorgeous. The best factory wheel ever made IMHO. Youd have to be mad to pay £100+ for a Momo rip-off of a Renault classic...what I mean by that is that all the decent Momo designs are pretty much the same as the original Williams/16v one. Proper stitched...
No reason why you cant post on here...youre driving a Renault and its the same lump as a 16v Clio, so why not!
Anyway glad you got it sorted...Wongy you had any luck yet mate?
