    Depedns how they fix it cheap gaiters say £50 or less fitted.. personaly I'd chnageshafts as thats my preference but thats £150 or sof in new parts £0 or so second hand.

    manifold absolute pressure sensor

    It detects the pressure in the manifodl for the ECU to use. Oil shouldn't leak out its on the intake manifold.

    Alarm

    Depends on the engine size. 1.2 won't as standard. You can tell if its an alarm though there should be little sensors on the front dorr pillars and a little LED down by the gearstick. Ye decient enough alarm if its a dealership fit one then it depends on the fitter/garage but it won't matter...

    Sounds more like the TDC sensor but you realy need to check see if the engines sparking.

    ClioGB has a set for sale. I'd personaly buy 4 new ones and chnage the lot ebay etc has them for £60 or so. Some of yours will be fine just one is likly to have gone but you definatly should change two at once and idealy all 4 keep your old ones as spares. There the same as the 1.4 ones.

    Yep worth while it won't be cheap though for all the work. Nope don't have a 172 and I'd never change one anyway best of removing the whole system anyway. Do you want a copy of the file then?

    Its completly random when it wil come on might come on 1 second later might never come on. You want on with ISO 9141 I think from memory.

    Racing coilovers? 19 arms are longer why would you want to try and use just them the driveshafts wonb't work.

    Take it to a dealer chnaging th belts as I said is 2.7hours work the aux belt is a few quid the tensioners £60 or so. Final price depneds what labour rate there using.

    If your present knowedge of engines is that you don';t knwo how to attach the engine to the turbo I'd sit back and read a lot of books and managines first practical performace cars has just finished a series of articles where they DIY turbos a BMW.

    Its should be done as part of the 36 k and 72k etc services the 72k/5year one also has the cambelt changed at the same time.

    Check the baottom ball joint arb bsuhes and mounts also stearing arms.

    Depends what you deem overkill I think there superb and in an ideal world that what I'd use always.

    YEp its most lily going to the the tensioners which need chnaging as well. Its a seperate belt to th cambelt 2.7 hours to chnage if your a normal 172 if you've a cup its more like 15 minutes.

    Valver Oil Filter

    Yep its just a pain to do. I find dropping it down and out and bringing the new one in from the top the best option. Everyone seems to have there own preference include moving the radiator.

    Spring rates for 172?…

    The dampers have terribale charecteristsis and they won't make them right they supply them with adjustbale dampaers which to make for any decinet sort of ride means they have to be set very hard. I cannot not recomend the GAZ stuff eough stock is way better or spend the extra. Gaz is cheap...

    Nope you need to ee what the fault code is.

    Decat light

    The other oprion is to wire up a variable voltage chip etc to the lambeda wires to make the car think the cats there as its getting proepr resuslts form the sensor. Only one person ever done it and no compnay has yet for some reason decided to make it.
