Nope Charcole canister pipe.
I goes to your chocolae canister which is in the drivers side wheel arch its used to ven fuel vaours from your fule tank there another pipe which goes from the canister to your fuel tank pump.
df4 isn't bad its built to a price though and it shows there a problem engine though as you said coild firstly then spark plugs it likes to eat then it likes blocking its throttle body a lot also all the bits are cheap plastic manifold for example its a great idea and works but its just the...
You need to get on track 29.9 was my record.
But that was absolutly as far as it could go even at 110mph on the German autobahn (honest it was) it gave 37mpg foot to the floor for a good ten minutes.
On the roads worst I ever got was 37mpg but that was going a bit mad.
Running round 55mpg...
If your going to own two cars I'd get a classic/something unreliable not two new cars.
I used to hate when I had to cars. The cost of insurance etc kept shocking me, then again I'm cheap.
Mot plus there the unexpected running costs of a car brakes servicing etc.
Forget it to much wasted money 172 engine it for much less and there more potential power there for less money.
For the money to get a turbo kit with the right bits done you could get close to buy the bits needed to make a 280hp VAG 1.8T engine with 6 speed box which has even more potential...
Beating a VTR doesn't mean anyhting its down to drivers. I've overtaken modified VTR's ones on track in my car with just 65hp and my cars stock and that was at FCS where there HP gave them a huge advantage.

What needs doing.
I think Matt on about the old AUX belt rules which used to state 72k chnaging of the AUX belt.
Max it should be included but most garages forget the ules chnages the first 172 had the cabled an AUx belt done at 72k they failed that much the Aux belt chnage was supposed to be done at 36k but garages forget to include this.
Servicing rules/time/whats done etc (172/182)...
Part number 7711155292
Spark plug NGK PFR6E-10
Selling price : 18.17 €
Thats in Europe as fred said about £13 over here.
The Halfords ones arn't bad there cheaper but you might need to change them twice as often but since there less than half the price.
Renault will say no its to stop garages doing work on cars which never needed the work doing as they may be a bit short etc.
Renault will pay for the parts though.
There isn't any diesel Clio forums, the foreign C,io sites have a greater dci presence particulaly in Portugaul but unless you can read Portugese its not that easy to use.
Not many Dci owners on here at all.
There already stuff out air filter and springs from memory.
We need more younger buyers to buy them and at the price there asking ATM no one will buy one and spend money give it 2 years there will be laods out there.
Throttle bodies are already been made sine the 172/182 ones are a direct fit.
In many ways shorter servicing wuld be great Renault have loads of problem with there Lagunas due to the long servicing they let them have. Changing th oil ever 6k is a great idea for power and longevity.
If you think they need changing then they will.
Mine were worn enough to want to replace them at 50k or so I enfded up leaving it till 65k or so and they were still fine for most people.
I'd say 1.5hours to chnage them I'm not as fast a wokrer as Fred.
Shouldn't take long they just need to see what the faul code is and then check/replace that sensor depnding which one it is or if its even one of the sensors depends how long it takes.
Fuel gauge and milage computer use the same fuel sensor in the tank which isn't the most accurtate evn Renault tolerances on the sensor from new are quite loose.
