Fit a decent standalone ecu instead of piggyback, its much better overall. Ecumaster black, maxxecu, link all support the clio2 canbus so oem dash works ok

Updates. Stripped the breaker 225 in a day. Big hole. These meganes are absolutely solid and it took a fair bit of 9" grinder action to get that off! Bodyshop has been booked for march. I suspect he will only need a small amount of the qtr but better off going big when cutting. Washed it...

Not suprised to hear the issues with the adjustable bushes. Poor design, the megane adjustable ones also move.

Is the coolant temp going up to the correct mark? If the thermostat is weak, they can hit the cold limiter at 5500rpm.

Flat floor in the rear looks good, tidy job. The plastic blocking the drains is part of the shield that goes over the top of the wiper motor, they are brittle thin plastic which falls apart. Not needed, i dont think any of mine are intact. Seen the renaultsport coat for sale, nice period one that.

Updates. I needed a custom turbo oil feed making up for my new turbo setup, so popped down Global Hydraulics (formerly northern hose and hydraulics). Excellent service as usual, £35 made in ten mins whilst waiting. Recommended if needing custom hoses in Teesside area. -4an one end (7/16jic??)...

M7x1 iirc, ive used regular flange headed bolts on mine. Give the head a clout on the originals with a 3/8 extension or similar drift before undoing, usually come out ok doing that.

Vibration under heavy braking is common, usually pad deposits. Discs wont be warped, give it 70mph-30mph hard braking on the bounce to deglaze.

If wiring all good ecu might be dead.

Its difficult to diagnose stuff like this without seeing it in person. It sounds like you have a misfire

Guess asr light is also on. Squib might need recalibrating.

Unfortunately people use/recommed the wrong stuff for the cam covers. Id scrape it off and use the correct anaerobic flange sealant to avoid any future headaches. If a bit of sealant comes off and blocks an oil gallery or oilpump strainer, be engine rebuild.

Yes reprogrammed loads of airbag ecu's on clio2, can sort it with clip.

I can reconfig the airbag ecu, redcar. If you have oem steering wheel on and its connected up, might be other issues i.e. squib.

What sealant have you used on the cam cover? Should be anaerobic i.e loctite 518 so it mixes with oil if it accidently overspills.

Dmf fail is common enough on them. I have a 225 breaking that vibrates from low rpm when revving on idle, dmf issues. Bad injectors would cause a misfire not vibration. It wont be bearing related, when they are failing the engine revs ok with audiable knock, not vibration.

Is it still running the forge cooler? Looks quite small. Sounds like our old 250 ic which consistently pulled 30/40deg temps when on it on a forge cooler. They dont work great on any car. I was thinking this had a welly cooler on it but was thinking of the twingo. Normal 70mm welly cooler will...

As above knackered dmf at a guess. The engine should rev to the limiter without issue.

Whats charge temps like on current cooler on hot days/on it? Could go for the 100mm core welly cooler.

Updates. Been using the orange dci this week. Ive done 200ish miles in it and no sign of engine warning light, running decent. I stuck a tin of liqui moly diesel purge in the tank and give it a high speed italian tuneup. Mot on Tuesday.

Need a dti and degree wheel, with the catcams tooling to hold the cams in place without cam cover on, to time them up bang on the money to the spec sheet.

Yep as @Flob says its probably to lock the pulley instead of having it floating.

I might be wrong as hard to tell in pic, is the exhaust cam 180 deg out? Looks like the d is at the top and inlet cam at the bottom?

Yep possibly bad wiring to the plug. On my dci i noticed the wiring was bare to the pressure switch for 20mm or so and corroded to fcuk. Still worked suprisingly, depinned connector and repaired it before issues.
