That air box is used on cup racers and R3 access/maxi cars. Mine was an R3 maxi Evo as can be seen here:

You’d need to get the box off and sent to me mate

You need the n/s shaft taking out then mate to see if it’s fallen apart.

Could be driveshaft, could be diff, could be mainshaft bearings. Does it make the noise worse when turning?

I strip them, inspect them, replace what’s found to be worn and rebuild them. There’s no definitive list of what to replace I’m afraid.

Wired in to the original wiring mate. I think I put it on a plug as well from memory.

Well to get the head line bored, I only found 1 company in the uk that could and would do it! £450 later it was done. It was nothing but grief for them to do it and I don't think they'll do another! If you're that worried, shave off the sharp areas with a Stanley knife blade.
