I bought that kit originally, and tbh, it didn’t deliver the results that I had hoped for. V36 however, was in an entire different league.

I use chemical guys V36 and a orange hex logic pad. Works wonders and does it all in one! It’s an optical cut polish, and I can confirm it does work wonders.

I used a nibbler to release the skin, then where it’s stuck to the bonnet itself, I sliced it with a Stanley blade to release it. Once it was off, I removed the remains with a razor blade scraper. Sounds hard work, but it’s a piece of piss

You need to check the voltage that the alternators putting out for a start. What size cable did you use? Is the earth cable the same thickness as the positive cable? Is it a good earth point that you’ve got? Running a battery in the boot requires good quality thick cabling to cope with the flow.
