If you remove the circlip and the washer, then offer the renfort into place you'll be able to see if there's too much play in the drive cup (in and out) then you need the washer as well

The tyres had only just been fitted in that pic though tbf! They are now fully glossed up and looking whoresome!

Take the circlip and washer out and fit the renfort plate in its place. That should then hold the drive cup in place. The ones I use don't use the circlip or washer at all, but it's been a while since I did the renfort plate.

It's probably because he's got in bed with tractive tbh. No doubt Ast wouldn't like him dealing with another Dutch suspension supplier. Ast factory direct aren't that amazing to deal with either.

Well we will see once you've been out in mine! Honestly mate, they're not much stiffer than standard. :wink: The cup 2's on mine will make it feel stiffer though due to the sidewalls. I'm tempted to take the cup spoiler off mine just to see what it looks like.

As long as it says it's safe for use on brass synchros it'll be fine.

Most trackday organisers won't let you on track with slicks unless you have a cage.

The gearboxes on the 197's and 200's suffer with synchro ring issues as said above, but renault have now changed the design of them. I've rebuilt a few TL4 boxes now, and tbh, other than the synchro issue they ain't that bad a box. To put it into perspective, a typical parts cost for the jc5 is...

Well I can do the TL4 boxes mate, and also supply a quaife. Yeah the selector hub is the expensive item Keith @£120 ish on its own. It's because it's combined with also being used as a reverse gear. Well you know where I am mate if you want it opening up!
