Update time again!! The new rear stub axles and caliper brackets arrived today courtesy of @nath&alex.
The car was already stripped down ready to accept them so fitting took next to no time at all.
Stub and bracket on:Disc and caliper carrier on:And finally, lock wired the rear brake pad...
Cheers. Couldn't bare to sell it so it was stripped with the assistance of @not normal dan, then scrapped.
Lol I ain't keeping the engine that clean!! If I can't reach it to wipe it with a cloth, tough s**t!
It's not been washed since October 2014! Lol! Here's some proof that I used to wash and polish cars though!!Intercooler gave too much away so I painted it black. Disguised the 440hp perfectly after that. Much entertainment had in this car, well in a straight line!
Hi mate, welcome to the forum! You've posted in the wrong section originally so I've moved the thread to the best section.
You'll get the maximum exposure and hopefully an answer to your question.
Honestly mate I can't remember what size shims I run now tbh. There is only 1 shim there though.
From memory I had quite a bit of static negative camber before shims anyway, so this may be the reason I've got a lot from just 1 shim.
They could well be tbh mate. Original injectors are magnetti marrelli I think, but can't be certain.
ECP usually sell the oem stuff as well as the cheaper alternatives mate.
Coil pack from Renault will be ££ for definite.
Little update for everyone. Brembos now fitted up front, along with discs and braided hoses. New bottom spherical bearings fitted along with new rose jointed track rod ends. Rear brakes/stub axles stripped down in preparation for the new improved stub axles arriving next week.
Tomorrow is...
@GrahamS here's the clearances mate. This is taken from the R3 maxi engine build manual. I'd have to dig a bit further for the 172 specs, but they won't be much different.
I'll dig out some specs for you mate. £12 per piston for standard rings if you know where to go.
I can't stress enough that the measurements I've said to have checked are that important if you want an engine that's going to last.
It's worth getting your oil pump modified as well.
My cold...
