Sorry that should read get the main bearing journals in the block measured, not the crank journals!
Get your cam journals measured in the head as well. Exhaust side wears more than the inlet side. This will help to reduce your oil pressure if they're worn.
Get the block measured first. You need to know the bore size because you can't get oversize rings for the standard pistons. I'd also be getting the crank journals measured and if needs be line bored.
Thrust washers are a piece of piss tbh. You have a choice of standard and oversize. Get the...
A few more of mine.
Caldwell trackday pre roof vent:
Donington trackday: Hooligan drive out with @not normal dan when he had his trophy:
Oulton Rs day:
@rally555 I've got a 172 crank that needs a polish on the journals if you're interested? Other than that pretty much all 2ltr renaults from 2000 on have interchangeable cranks I'm led to believe.
Yep! Took it for mot after they'd been replaced and they had play in them by the time I arrived. Granted though, I think I damaged the stub axles at oulton and this caused premature failure.
Time for another update!! The time has finally come to make inroads into getting the mapping booked. No date has been set yet, but May could prove to be a entertaining month!
Also a big shout out goes to @nath&alex! I'm pleased to show off these bad boys!! They're going to be finding their...
My 110psi cold oil pressure would say yes. Lol! But tbh, one of the biggest areas for oil pressure drops are in the cam journals from wear and the dephaser solenoid.
The whine is either the diff or the mainshaft bearings that have failed mate.
I think I know of one of the m factory diffs fitted in a Clio as well mate, so it's only a matter of time before they become more popular.
Regards the machining - nope that's not something that your average Joe box...
So do I mate! Lol! Unfortunately unless I put my GoPro in there, I don't think we will ever fully know!!
Only filling the rod with lead shot mate. Other than that, no not modding it at all.
Gives a bit to much of the game away mate with a bonnet scoop tbh, and with the carbon airbox, space is rather limited.
The idea with this is the air passing under the car is cool already and there's a great abundance of it to be fed to the relevant areas. Naca ducts are high flow, low drag as...
I think the worst thing for me is that I don't even know if it'll work! Lol! Fingers crossed it does as I cba to fit a gearbox oil cooler. I've already got the pump though.
This little job has probably got around 10-12hrs in it already with all the fitting up and checking, cutting, adjusting...
Thanks. Tbh it's not really designed to be a sump guard as such, although it will offer some protection. Aluminium is just nicer to work with in terms of fabricating the naca ducts really.
Had a couple of hours spare the past few days so I made a start on the sump guard/gearbox cooler type thing. I started off with a piece of 3-4mm aluminium sheet and traced around the original plastic cover. Cut it out to shape and made sure it would offer up alright. With this done and it all...
