I’ve got a long one and I do think it’s more useful on the job. Great for poking into tight areas but obvious downside is sometimes being unable to crack stuff free with the length becoming a hindrance in that respect.
The way I justified the long neck was thinking worse case you have to crack...
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t I guess.
I tend to think the way some testers are is due to bad experience with past tests/customers. Things like the valve stem, you see it you advise it, simple as that. You don’t advise it and the customer’s on the phone when they have a tyre changed...
Even low mile FN2’s are getting dear. I got my Mrs an fn2 type r and she loves it (never had a sporty car before). It’s a nice car and has a huge load Carry with the seats down in the back.
Bad idea to rely on a ‘new’ engine. I can’t say I’ve looked but isn’t a £300 engine more 5 years ago? It’d also never be £300, you’d end up with an unknown engine, prob need belts doing, might as well do clutch blah blah. Then imagine getting it all in and it’s a turd.
the euro’s kit isn’t...
I’d prob buy a crank pulley too, at least have a good look at yours. If its not been done it will need doing now or soon. Never realised my last 172 one the pulley was shot til I started doing the timing belt. Held the job up getting one by the car was much smoother after. My current 172, the...
Yeah, me too. My 200 is covered now, had a double take this morning at the salt wearing, mud splattered, seagull-turd adorned filthy little slut as I got to work.
I wouldn’t say they’re a lot of money really.
Yes AG or LY with recaros and low miles are but a sub 100k mile 200 in white is what, £4K or so? They look great in white IMO as it shows off the curves and wide wings. That’s where my sweet spot would be for value for money. I always wanted a...
Anyone else watching this chap’s vids?
Seems to be buying up as much cool stuff as he can get his hands on. Have a look at his other vids, must have spent millions recently (2x RS200’s, group B Audi, ken block’s car, WRC stuff, cosworths and modern Lambo specials etc)
I think about the megane thing but they don’t Rev much. I like the whole high rpm thing on track, makes it feel more fun. Can’t dispute the megs are fast though. Can be on the edge in my 172 and a Meg comes past all composed and quiet. But are they having more fun, look more chilled to me on...
Watching the prices on FB groups I reckon colours of AG or LY (and currently PW) add more like £3k to the ‘asking’ price of a 200.
I’d love to know why the 200 feels like it does. I can’t see it’s just weight as it’s more the way the engine feels in the mid range plus shouldn’t the gearing...
I really like my 200 but they are pretty different in the power delivery to a 172/182 aren’t they.
Handling feels better to me and I prefer the looks, I daily the 200 but I drive my 172 once a week and it feels so grunty compared to the 200.
My 200 made 201bhp (custom map and few mods) so...
I have the snap on set and the extra 3ft long one too. They are a must have in the trade or serious diy.
I did prefer the older handle style though but ended up warrantying the lot for the newer handle like those. Prob a bit safer for your hands
Yeah, it’s weird. I did google it after the post and it does seem to be a ‘thing’
You know if you put it on a tight bolt and pull the trigger it just locks up (as it would if the fastener was too tight) well now it just slips. Appears to be a little pin that turns in a circular motion that...
Well the old Milwaukee ratchet didn’t last long.
Last job of the year she shat herself, the manual side is still strong but pull the trigger and it just slips. My work mate said his did it and he was going to send it back and it magically self healed. Said it still does it now and then.
Bit...
What’s thought to be up with the car for it to be breaking up at high revs? Just intrigued as really it should be something sortable?
Assuming the mechanics are sound… plugs (are they gapped down low enough) coil packs, trigger for coil packs (looking at wiring to them and the ecu triggers)...
torque test channel.
Did see the latest 1/2” snap on was king of power again but my dealer won’t be stocking them until he’s managed to shift all the current shitters. No idea how he sells any snap on as everyone is going Milwaukee due to the price we can get them for in the centre isle at...
Should be at my advanced age (and prev having left the trade after being mobile for years on fleet & lorries). Somehow now find myself running someone else’s show whilst still being flat out in the workshop at the same time. This time 3 years ago I was leaving the trade!
Come aaaawn… I’m into Milwaukee for the poke vs price but they don’t hold a candle to any snap on tools as far as feel, finish and longevity goes!
We’ve got a lot of Milwaukee & snap on between us at work and the Milwaukee looks absolutely battered despite being much younger. It’s DIY stuff...
