Well ultimately agency are cheaper than any other gearbox repairer. On all the boxes I've looked at and priced up for repair, the parts alone have cost more than what agency charge! I know from conversations I've had with Martin @ agency transmissions, he had a lot of spares in stock. When I...
The supplied solder sleeves are quite possibly the easiest thing to use tbh mate. I'd rather have bamboo stuffed under my finger nails than use a scotch lock as well tbh. I'm with @bloke here, live and learn!
If the STOP and OIL light have come on and the engine doesn't have a death rattle, I'd be looking at checking the oil pressure sensor personally. It's to the left of the oil filter as you look at it with the bonnet up.
what colour is the plug as well? The knock sensor plug is brown with a red...
The cage is a weld in cage, so yes it was painted in the car mate. I can't remember how they actually painted it all tbh, as in the sequence. They did an extremely good job of it all though.
Yeah it was a proper comedy gold car tbf. Well in a straightline that is! Lol! It looked totally standard on the exterior other than 17" turinis (1st set in the uk!), lowered and the big mouth bumper mod for the intercooler. Rinsed out many a super car just for s***s and giggles! With 440bhp and...
Cheers Tim!
Yeah the green top Valeo coils will work with the R26 mate. The Beru ones are good quality as well. I paid £60 delivered for my green tops, so I'll be buying another 4 as spares for just in case. The last thing I want is one to go down when I'm over in Germany!
My old mk3 Astra could pull 63mph. In first. Lol! I s**t you not! Quaife CR box with long 1st and 5th gear. I think off the top of my head it was pulling around 90 in 2nd at 7500, with a top speed of 174 on the limiter.
I think you'll find your choices are restricted to the 421's mate personally. If your prepared to faff with the timing and spend a bit of time on the dyno, I'd imagine you'll be able to up the torque and drop the hp. Just takes time and money.
The bearings are fucked mate. Get the nmb bearings that are an option. They might be listed as 'pre loaded bearing option', they cost more money, but they will last longer.
Great lap!! f**king loved watching that!
I have also fallen foul of the gendarmes for speeding. 147mph in a 130km/h zone. End result was a big fine, but oddly, yours was heavier on the wallet than mine!
Mine will consist of spring rate changes, 4 pot brembo upgrade and adjustments/enhancements to the roll centre kit.
Have you seen the post about BG now doing the Sachs on the hurry up? Motorsport season has ended so they're obviously drumming up business.
As you can see, I have a lot of photos of mine! Lol!
Lol @ N/A equivalent to yours as well! I don't think I'll be continuing with the development once it's up and running tbh. The chassis though will continue to evolve as I've got a few tweaks to carry out.
Well the running in period is surrounded in mystery mate. Some recommend a 1000 miles, some recommend just start it up and knock the s**t out of it from day one. There's more opinions out there than members of ISIS!
On every engine I've built, its always gone straight on to the engine dyno and...
Lol @ up and running by the weekend!! Maybe if I could be arsed, yes, but I can't.
Is this the all singing all dancing standalone? Are you still running the dbw tb? I can't remember if you are.
On a different note, I came across this picture whilst I was scanning through them on my phone...
