Check the earth crowns haven't come loose under the dash top mate. They can make them do these funny little things if they are.

Don't use a soldering iron on it mate as they're designed to shrink down with heat. You need a heat gun or a lighter will do it too.

I think you'll find your choices are restricted to the 421's mate personally. If your prepared to faff with the timing and spend a bit of time on the dyno, I'd imagine you'll be able to up the torque and drop the hp. Just takes time and money.

The bearings are fucked mate. Get the nmb bearings that are an option. They might be listed as 'pre loaded bearing option', they cost more money, but they will last longer.
