Just trim the underside skin of your bonnet mate. It's the plenum part of the inlet that will catch, so it's not a huge amount of material to remove.
There's no real benefit to the coil on plug setup over the original 1*2 coil pack and leads. The only reason that I've used the cop is from a...
I suppose I'm the best to answer this! What you've read is correct mate. Tap the 197 head to convert it to the 1*2 belt setup. Be aware though, the tensioner stud is higher up than the 1*2. It doesn't make much odds to the belt tension tbh, but thought it was worth a mention.
Everything else is...
In the 10+ years that I've been going I've only had 1 close call and that involved a blind entry/exit in a vxr Astra at 100mph and a coach. Full of school kids on a day trip. They were happily waving to me completely oblivious to the fact they could see that my eyes were on stalks and I was...
Standard UK insurance no longer covers the 'ring as they've got wise to it. They haven't done for the past 10 or so years. You can get specialist cover though through some companies.
Armco was at one point in time €60 per mtr to replace at the ring. The Armco is also 3 high in some of the big accident hotspots.
So to put it into perspective, the average accident required the replacement of around 60-80mtrs of one tier...............
Factor in the cost to fit the Armco, the...
I would imagine they will yes, but unless you can find definitive information regarding the stroke I wouldn't like to say 100%. I'd be 99% confident though, as no one in their right mind would totally redesign what is an already existing engine to that extent.
No worries mate, and congratulations on the marriage!
Wiring would be coming along better if I could be arsed to go in the garage. Lol!
How cool is that about your dad! Kudos mate!
That happened at one of the fastest sections on the Nurburgring, so we are talking 145+ in a megane before it went wrong.
I'd take a punt that he lost it on the hump in the circuit (flugplatz) just before you start the entry into the corner (aremberg). Very nasty crash and extremely lucky people!
And even that's not big enough imo. The space between the bellmouths/trumpets is to close to the plenum wall as well so it alters how the air is drawn in.
When I had mine I was going to fit a reverie carbon plenum that's substantially larger with more space for better airflow. Bottled it when...
R-sport at Wimbledon mate. They ain't cheap but they bolt in on the oe rail mounts. Jenvey if your running itbs.
This is where and how I connected my braided hose.
I've got a stainless braided fuel line on mine but it also goes to a aluminium fuel rail.
If you get a cup racer fuel rail you'll be able to do the same as I've done and run the braided line.
Ok so not much to update really as I can't be arsed after I've come back off my holidays. Maybe next week!
Here's a pic just for fellow wiring pervert @Russ_16v This just needs the raychem over the top and new terminals crimping on for the ecu plug. Doesn't sound much, but it's still a good few...
It maybe cheating, but I guarantee you 100% that you wouldn't have turned it down for the price I paid!
Yeah I've heard that about them before tbh mate, but when the aim of mine was to break 200hp I'm not really bothered what it makes. Not sure when it'll be up and running tbh mate. Got...
