Unfortunately I know all to well how much it hurts to fall off a bike mate. It doesn't put me off though either.
Thanks for the kind words, but atm I'm not sure if or when it will be finished.
Not really much to update on this atm. No time, no interest and generally fucked off with being messed around by suppliers of parts. This is how it currently stands:Wires everywhere. Lol! The DR25 raychem has all finally arrived now so I should really think about making a start on it again...
If you can get the box to me I can strip it, send the diff to gripper and rebuild it all when its back. I get good prices at gripper and handily they're only 25 mins away from my house.
Driven sensibly it could last years mate. Driven like a racing legend I'd say weeks. It's all about having a bit of mechanical sympathy tbh. If most people could see what the gearbox was trying to do when they selected each gear, they'd hopefully be able to understand the loads that it's put...
@MrTom my usual gear oil preference is redline mtl, but at £60+ to fill the box, your not gonna be too chuffed if it still crunches on gearchanges!
I ran mtl in my straight cut Quaife box that was coupled up to a 2bar boost motor. A good few 160mph+ runs and trips to the ring meant it was time...
Your choices are the pms brackets or the ones off Chris Powell on here. His are in the group buy section.
There's another company selling sets on eBay as well.
Yeah it's always worth getting the tracking checked when your having new tyres fitted, but more so if they're worn unevenly.
Theu won't add camber unless you specify it and have camber bolts. Just get them to set the tracking mate.
A geo setup and wheel alignment are the same thing mate, but also different depending on where you go.
Wheel alignment is just tracking, so toe in/out is set.
Geo setup is when the tracking and camber is measured and adjusted accordingly.
Can't comment on where's best to go in the West...
Well it all comes down to what parts it needs. Some of the stuff my box needed wasn't on the shelf so I had a 10 day lead time.
I do have some spare parts from boxes I've stripped, but if your going to the expense of getting the box out, you want to go with new parts imo.
I had a white nova gsi and then moved on to a red Astra gsi. Don't know of the ones you've mentioned mate I'm afraid. The lad with the cav turbo also had a nova turbo in black if it's the same one I'm thinking of.
I know him very well. We were good mates at one point, but don't see him so much now. Yeah used to go up there a few times tbh as I did my college block release up at burslem college.
