Ph1 172 Track Car. Next Year I Go Racing - Hopefully!

Lol! No I agree, there's no reason to adjust the regs for the hubs, as like you say it's chassis development.

Getting more power from my Hillclimb 172 Ph 1

Not imo no, but if you've got more power, combined with suspension mods makes for a very quick little car.

Ph1 172 Track Car. Next Year I Go Racing - Hopefully!

The hubs correct the roll centres which is the important bit that effects how the suspension works sonny. The bump steer correction helps to combat geometry changes through suspension deflection. It's a package that does and will reduce lap times I'm afraid.

Getting more power from my Hillclimb 172 Ph 1

Diff cost is around £1500 delivered for a gripper with lower cw&p. I can get you one if your wanting one.

    Trophy #185's story

No problem. Yeah definitely mate. It's normally to stop the dirt and grit getting on to the piston and damaging the seals.

    kw v2 or somthing else

Awesome. I had them on mine and loved them. Too soft for track work though. For road and occasional track they're bang on.

Getting more power from my Hillclimb 172 Ph 1

Are you allowed any suspension mods? If you are, then asts, roll centre kit and a diff. Done. Forget the power chase as they just don't produce good bhp per £. Quite the opposite in fact.

The socks are basically jackets that wrap around the spring. Only ever seen them on coilovers though tbh.

    Is 172 phase track different to 172 phase 2? wishbones/arb e.t.c

Subframe and driveshafts mate. Not 100% sure if ff ph2 172's had the skinny ph1 track width though or not. Cups and 182's are the wider track though. Hubs are all the same.

    Fletch's 150k 172 Project..

Send me the link when you do mate! I had a bike get in my way at karussel too. Threw me a bit as I wasn't sure if he was going to move, or if he'd even seen me. That's what the over revs all about in my lap video! Thought I was in 4th dropping down into 3rd!

Only a small update, but I thought I'd show off the new rad. Collected it on Saturday afternoon, and I'm VERY pleased with it. Few pics: The frame around the front of the rad is there to serve 2 purposes. One is to funnel the air through the rad for maximum efficiency, and the other is to...

Hi mate! Yeah it seemed to generate a bit of interest so I thought I'd continue it. Good news on yours then! Glad it's now making the power it should've been first time around. To get 215 on Rs tuning's rollers is a good result as well as they're notorious for being accurate. Bad news on the...

Well if you get 5th gear off without damaging it and split the casing ok you shouldn't be too bad tbh. They're just awkward.

Thanks. It's definitely getting there now. Regards the clearances and preloads it's all in the pdf manuals I've got mate. You measure the lift without a shim in using a dti gauge, then select the correct sized one to add the required amount of preload.
