15s go on easily when its lowered with no mods and no rubbing. I used to have 17s on my mk1 RT but they rubbed like Sinbad and a magic lamp.
As for an exhaust go for a nice 3" piper stainless steel one. (Inward rolled)
How are your black bits being colour coded? Are they treating it with...
Has any one considered that the 172/182 has much more torque at low revs making it a MUCH more drivable car.
I had a 16v (still have it) for 18 months and ended up so pissed off at having to wait for it to come on cam before it moved. As soon as you slow down you have to drop a cog over other...
From experience I know a guy with a Nova 2.0 16v Turbo weighing in at about 800kgs. 265 bhp.
Raced a RWD Sapph Cossie with the same power but alot more weight (another mate) and got beaten. (Sapph won) Santa pod 1/4 mile strip.
What I will say is that Nova was catching the Cossie just as...
Frosty - its not worth it. These arguments have gone on for ages and ages.
The only car that suprised me so far was my mates Nova 2.0 16v (non turbo) but I started pulling away at higher speeds.
Evos are special cars, Clios are not. They are good but not special.
Sorry I like the way Clios drive but Evos are in their own league. After seeing the way Clarkeson took that FQ400 round the track with one finger on the wheel it was incredible. I think they prob handle as well as the GTR Skylines now with the amount of technology they have.
What different...
I have a closed type induction kit on my MR2 turbo - think I should ditch it lads?
Its an MS Designs (IIRC As it was there when I bought it)
With regards to the topic, I have been to BB an a number of occasions and found them very helpful, very professional, reasonably priced and well set up...
Programme on Discovery Home and Leisure hosted by Mike Brewer.
He was at Santa Pod and it looked like a RTOC day!!
Saw a blue K plate valver with clear rear clusters and a funny looking boot strip go tearing up the track. Also a 250bhp GTT with one seat and a skinny driver do a 12.1 1/4...
I did this after using a pro leather cleaning kit. Problem I found was the cracks are stil visable but now black. Then the fact that the patch with polish is shiny and the rest is dull. (Sposed to be dull)
What Im saying is 89kg on average is easy to lose on a normal 172 simply by having less fuel and not being a chubby person with a chubby passenger.
I know 9 times out of ten that a cup will be lighter than standard 172 as average people weigh the same and most fill the tank. But there will be...
Not if the people in the cup are considerably heavier.
Me and my mate are both over 100kgs. (Im 15.3 stone hes about 16.5) Then put 2 10 - 11 stoners like Chris and Mike in a 172 then it should even out.
A full tank of petrol probably weighs in about 45kgs. So if ones empty and the others...
You Clio drivers will have a whole new bunch of people that think their cars are faster. A whole new breed of teenagers who want to race anything that moves.
So as soon as you stick a passenger in a Cup its the same as the normal 172!
Also, cars 0-60 tests and figures, what are they based on. IE how many passengers, fuel tank etc.
Cause using mine as an example 5.7 0-60 would be slowed by some one 5 stone heavier than another driver by quite a...
I reckon it would still sell. Theres a VERY hardcore bunch of RS enthusiasts out there. Most of them think the Focus was cheap at £20k
Bit of consumer analasys wouldnt have gone a miss from Ford me thinks.
Still 1-0 to Renault for having the balls to put a really powerful engine in their...
Just a point with Cups. How much lighter than an ordinary 172 are they?
Just thinking yesterday that its totally lost with some one like me whos a fair bit heavier than the average sized man. Then if you stick one of my large mates in there too then its completely gone!
Any one read the review? Says that the cars ok but seeing as the Clios only a couple of hundred quid dearer every one will buy that!
Ford will kick themselves for not making an RS version.

Bill - my mates moderately modded 2wd Sapph Cossie beat his mates 265bhp 850KG Nova down the 1/4 mile.
FWD cars with that sort of power cant get traction where it counts.
Fair dues the Nova when moving is very fast indeed but whats the point if you sit there spinning your new tyres into...
