Very easy tbh. Did it in mine a few years ago on toyo t1r's. Down in the 8min 30's now in a stripped out cup and kw v2 suspension. Plenty of time left in the tank as well tbh.
I'd imagine your box has seen more heat than the welding would cause anyway tbh. It nearly burnt my hand when I touched the casing at mallory. The only issue I can see in getting it welded is getting it clean enough for the tig to weld without spitting its dummy out. It's very sensitive as to...
Offer them up to a set of 172 cams - You'll visibly see the differences in the lobes. The 197 cams have longer duration and they're also more advanced from what I remember.
Its a good job you weren't as confident then through island!! Look at what happened to James! Lol! Impressive to get within that time distance though everything else considered. Boyz got skillz init! Lol
Yeah I understand that Morgan. It really is night and day better since all the hub modifications though. So much easier to drive, which I think the video shows as a lot of people have commented on how smooth and easy I made it look. Overall impressions of the epas though are very good - even if...
A few things to keep in mind with mine though Morgan are as follows:
I didn't settle the tyre pressures before I set that lap, so the fronts were above what I wanted, causing some of the understeer,
The suspension is not stiff enough which was adding to the understeer,
but the assistance level...
Ah that would explain it knocking the b****cks out the tyres then.
Mines 3 degrees negative at the front, 2.5 degrees negative at the rear and around 10 minutes toe out on the front. It all comes down to personal preferences though. Those settings suit me, but may not suit others.
Fundamental underlying issues there that are exaggerated by the epas imo there Fred. If the assistance was turned down I'm sure it would improve it too. Mine does nigh on the exact same thing at full assistance. Watch this and you'll see what I mean. Granted though, the ring is a bumpier...
Yeah that's what I thought anyway tbh phil, but thanks for the input. What do you drive with yours set to then? 3/4's? On the 16's I run in between 1/4 and 1/2 with a 320mm steering wheel.
If you turn the assistance level down on the epas you get much better feel Fred, or at least that's what I've found. With the 16's and road tyres on the car is driven with a very small amount of assistance, but on the 15's and 888's I run it the same level as James does - full assistance. I...
No the standard prv on an xe is made of aluminium. Tbqh it was very much luck of the draw as to if the original would stick or not and the same can be said for the nylon ones. I've seen both stick!! I've ran the original aluminium valve in my vauxhall turbo motor without issue for years. The...
Honestly mate it's quite obvious if you look at the oil pump.
So does that mean i'm wrong then? Unfortunately sometimes even prolific engine builders miss even the most obvious and simplest way of doing things.
