I've just watched it now. That's a very well sorted car right there!! It possibly weighs less than a fag packet due to lightweight panels (boot lid and doors for definite), its got an extremely close ratio box which I'd hazard a guess is straight cut from some of the noises it's making and to...
I may see you there then mate. Oh, and you'll have a chance to nick mine if James notices you trying to get his off! Mine will be in the carpark. The transit van parked next to it will be the security team. Lol
When do you want them for? It's pushing it to get them done for you so you can test them at oulton, but the following race shouldn't be an issue. And contrary to popular belief, it wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg either. Serious as well. We can get them done.
That puts things in a pickle...
What side wishbone do you need? I've got a spare n/s cup wishbone. They are specific to the cup and later 182's. A wishbone off a 1.2 won't give the same amount of castor increase that you get on a cup wishbone.
You can get a setup that was used on the megane racers that's essentially the same as the cup racer stuff tony. As you know I've looked at all possible options, so that may well be what Ian is running. Ultimately though, if that ruling is abided by he would have to remove them and refit original...
That'll be Ian kicked out then if they follow that to the letter as he runs the cup racer setup. The hubs aren't of the original design it shares an extender pin too. Quickest and easiest way to kill a series right there imo.
Shroud the rad as best as possible Russ to force feed it with air. Ask James about what he did to his. Also, possibly a long shot, but run some water wetter. It may help to drop the temps a few degrees.
Are you running spacers on the front? What's your current geo settings?
To pull the main hoop in a touch or do the same thing on the rear parts that go to the strut tops/areas. It might just be enough to allow it to fit without a fight.
Where is it catching btw? Or what's restricting it from going into the correct position?
So my question is this: If the OP had fitted Ast sportline 2's, which lets be honest, gets rave reviews on here and is used by pretty much all the racers, would that make a trophy less superior? This is a genuine question that I'm keen to find out opinions on.
I think it looks quite cool with...
They may get better when the tread blocks have worn down mate, but I can't confirm this. For every review I've read on these tyres there's been an equal amount of positive comments and negative comments.
The clues in the tyre name mate. Rain sport. And I'm not meaning this in any disrespect either. Good for the wet trackdays shite for the dry. All my opinion of course.
If there's enough demand for it, then I see no reason why we can't look into doing the various options tbh. At the minute it's a case of trying to keep it as simple as possible really.
The mk1 can be accommodated mate no problem.
Yeah a decent drill and drill bit would go through, but you'd...
Yes mate hub and pin are 2 different metals and there's no way I'd even consider doing that tbh. That's the fast way to staring a failure right in the face.
I actually run my personal set at 10mm wider (so 20mm wider overall) on the cup and I've been out as far as 15mm without driveshaft...
Thanks Tony! Surely you never expected anything less though! Lol!
I'm going to assume you mean track width Morgan rather than camber? No increase in camber but a small increase in track width. Zero modifications required other than to the hub itself. It's a well thought through trick design...
Thats interesting to read as well chip. My new engine *should* be around the 220-230hp region so it'll be interesting to see what it pulls flat out. I'll be going to 8k ish as well, although I must be honest the interest or desire to go that fast has dwindled somewhat nowadays.
The Astra used to pull 174 on the limiter in 5th with around 2miles required to get there. That's from a standing start as well. Did it twice and bid it f**k after that! Lol
