chavfords no nothing!
my mate went to the one in rugby the other week and they told him offset was the size of the wheelbolt holes, he phoned me to check and i had him give the phone to the guy behind the counter so he could hear me laughing
i would be more than happy to help and stick mine on the rollers. mk1 172 scorpion cat back, relocated k&n (battery relocated and ik on straight pipe on end of tb) and a mildly modded inlet manifold. i am also in the middle of making an adaptor decat in order to fit a 182 exhaust manifold. get a...
raise the back slightly and youll really notice the difference on the corners, as a point of interest correct weight distribution is nearly as good as an expensive coilover package!! especially in front engined 4cyl cars where the engine is offset to the o/s to allow for the g/box (and you sit...
there have been soooo many threads on here about group n/r sport ecus and piggyback units ect. i cant beleive no-one has run these on a dyno with various engine trim to find out whats what. obviously piggyback/ full map is best with cams ect. but with just exhaust/filter mods ect is the r sport...
okay, for looks you want the car as low and even as possible, but to improve handling simply by (regardless of what springs/dampers you use) adjusting ride height and weight distribution you want the front about 10mm lower than the rear (eg. my 172 has been lowered 25mm front and 15mm rear) this...
yeah got that from the book, i just like to check it, im old skool belt and braces (i dont do boomerangs) no worries tho. im sure my conversion table will turn up.
i got a saab turbo thru an mot with a decat, just added a can of winns emission reducer;). magic stuff, first test failing well. put the whole can in on a half tank of fuel followed by a damn good thrash, straight onto the probe, and got a high pass:D
you need to cut it. reno fit the exhaust, then the back axle. if you cut it i think just before the axle, thats where the new one has a join. so you can mate it up. unless youre replacing the full system in which case it doesnt matter where you cut it, just rip it off!!
dug my belt book out today, but it would be appreciated if anyone could tell me the belt tension in kg/whatever i use a gates krikit/clickit gauge and reno specify the belt tension in seem units. i know it seems a daft question but i always like to double check the tension and ive lost my...

hi, quick question, the f4r engine, are the cam followers shimmed or hydrolic?
mine seem to rattle a bit on overrun!
im sure its not an ancillary, the only other thing it could be is the timing belt tensioner bearing orn guide pulley bearing
cheers:D
what was everyones times for today?
my best 14.86 @ 92.36 mph standardish 172 full fat (nothing taken out, not even spare wheel) k&n relocated and foglamp air feed, scorpion cat back and a mildly played with inlet manifold.
would be intersted to know the times for other standard 172s...
