if there isnt a pressure reg on the fuel rail it means there is one on the fuel pump instead.
so if your R5 doesnt have a reg at the pump you'll need a ph1 rail
oh yeh, forgot about that :quiet: - didn't run it as the oil separator was mis-matched
you can still swap bottom ends over though i.e. install a ph2 BE in a ph1 or install a ph1 BE in a ph2
I used a ph1 172 head on the (182?) bottom end I got from you
the cam covers are different for different oil separators...
heads are interchangeable though...
sorry for the rubbish title :D
was browsing dialogys and I noticed this thing on the clutch page
#7... FAUX RLT 40-17 £0.73
not seen one before and I dont think i've got one... what is it and is my clutch about to blow up cause i've not got one? :dead:
not much
i only briefly tested it as i didnt fancy hitting the limiter when parked :p
seems to be around 2.5v... rising to 3ish?
I'll try and get a better result once i've wiring in my rev counter :o
pin 65 on the ecu
but I can't find any mention of it on the dash wiring
also, it's not an on/off signal, the voltage will just change a slight amount :(
i think I have zero chance of getting a mk2 trip computer to work :D
I was just curious as to how the information gets to the dash, given that the ecu only seems to be connected to obd (not canbus).
I had noticed the R19 trip computers do similar functions, but again need a fuel consumption...
circlip going means one of the sunwheels in the differential can pop out, leaving you with no drive.
you can usually tell its the circlip and not the clutch/gearbox as you can select all gears without the use of the clutch but the speedo still rises accordingly
unfortunately, once the circlip...
I was just wondering how the mk2 trip computer calculates current mpg etc..?
obviously it needs to know speed and fuel usage.
speed is obtained via the speed sensor in the gearbox (for a ph1) and is fed into the ecu. how is it then transmitted to the dash?
I guess the fuel consumption...
I've heard of 'issues' with RSTuning decodes. They seem to require an emulator in addition to the decode. almost as if the ECU will accept any imobiliser code, but it still needs *a* code, if that makes sense? iirc, both geesus and danlp6 had this issue
Beanie and I used www.ecuclinic.com and...
where did you get it decoded?
few of us now with 172 conversions with no ecu issues :)
all you should really need is a constant live, ignition live, fuel pump and starter motor.
other than that, double check all the neccessary wiring like the crank position sensor.
When mine did this it...
small bit of progress with the OBD2
all wired in, just can't seem to get the laptop to speak to the ecu :(
only result i've had is with vag-coms OBDII test (above) which suggests all systems are go :/
maybe I've got the K and L lines round the wrong way :/
