The fan belt drives all the other stuff like the alternator, powersteering pump (if u have one) also Air conditioning if im not mistaken? But I doubt u got that anyways.

AFAIK mate, the fan belt is just another word for the aux belt.

If u can afford it, get them all replaced. Then again, I had no choice cos all mine were bent :( Speak to Andy at GDI he might be able to sort ya out. Your lookin at 65-70 quid per 8 valves. The exhaust valves are a little bit more than the inlet ones.

From the sounds of it, its just the settings on the H/U mate. Are u running an amp? If so, there should be controls on that, best thing to do, is just play around with the settings on ur H/U untill u find wot u like.

Crossed wires? Check that uve put the + and - the right way round? Are u using a cross over?

Yeah it sounds about right mate.... Im guessing uve got ABS??? If its anything like on the Willy, AFAIK its cos the bearings are in the discs thats why theyre so pricey.
