None whatsoever. I doubt they'd pick up on it if they stripped the engine, but why would they go that far. Just plead ignorance, sorry, tell your friend to plead ignorance.
The difference in the actual size of the inlet tracts between the two manifolds was amazing to be honest. I found it difficult to believe that Renault could let such crap casting leave the factory.
In theory, it should make a difference. I am always dubious though as the noise from my...
I've just fitted my inlets. It's not the kick up the arse I expected but definatley makes a difference in the mid range.
I think the difference is difficult to detect because the power delivery is so much smoother.
As for which to go for, budget is the key.
The Renault Sport badge came from Renault as a single unit, that was about £17.00. The Clio badge was from Ebay and was about £4.00.
I've linked an Ebay auction below with a Renault badge...
Thanks for the comments guys.
The exhaust is a custom with twin 3'' exit, sounds sweet.
It's on the dreaded Apex -40's. I really like them to be honest. Obviously they don't ride as well as standard but for £95, they do the job. As said, they held off a DC2 Type-R.
The old girl put up a good fight so I treated her to a good scrub up outside.
She held off the DC2 over a good mile and a half and over a couple of roundabouts. Had a quick chat with the driver at a set of lights, his first comment was 'That's never a 1.2' LOL.
Pic's of the results.
I can't see there being a difference Rich, the inlet is generic and I think the only difference in terms of the plenum is the throttle body mount on the phase 1 and a section of the coil mounting on the phase 2.
I know it was something I couldn't find on here. Thankfully, Renault Leeds aren't as useless as others and found the part number for me.
In case anyone needs it in the future, you need:
77 00 114 234 £4.64
You need to re-drill the plenum to fit the phase 1 throttle body. I think the conversion is quite costly for little gain.
I really can't see how a sprint booster would work. Surely the signal gets to its' destination as quickly as it can so nothing can be sped up on that front. If the device...
To echo the message by Jack, the guy who owned my 172 before me paid £275 for a custom exhaust which is absolute crap. It has knocked, banged and generally tried to kill itself. The welds are crap, the centre section is too low and the backbox actually blew itself off.
Spend the extra funds...
