I'm trying to thin down my loom to fit to the mk1, so need to get rid of anything that wont be used in the mk1
I have a few loom connectors that I'm not sure of
1st is the 3pin connector that branches off where the starter motor...
there's a company local to me called 'mobile cambelts'
I'm going to buy a compression tester tomorrow and test it
then I'm going to call them and see if they can time it up for me..
yeh would want it done earlier :D
if i've bent the valves, it would show up on a compression test wouldnt it? - I'll go get one of them done before i continue with the engine... if it fails the compression test.. i don't know if it's worth me pouring more money into the engine.. as i could...

or are those just idlers? :o
how do you check to see if a cambelt is on properly and the cams etc are properly timed in? there are no timing marks as far as i can see :(
also, how tight/loose should the cambelt be, on mine i can wiggle the belt around quite freely!
just wondering if it might have slipped a few teeth...
should i attach lead 1 to coil pack 1
4 to 2
3 to 3
2 to 4?
ditz, it was just on idle when i removed the plugs - i removed them for a good 10-20s each and quite far from the coil, so they could not 'jump'
