When I had two cars insured with Aviva on a multi car policy, the second car was insured using NCB mirroring. I was told after the first year that the NCB would become stand alone after the policy ended, so I'd be able to take it elsewhere the following year.
In terms of cost the year before I...
I'd rather pay an extra £100 a year on road duty than drive an ordinary electric car to be honest.
I've no issue with paying more either to be fair. If electric cars are indeed greener, and the vast majority are driving them, then great.
Anyway, it's only another 25 years until my Clio is exempt.
I'll be removing some from my Trendline, if you fancy some second hand ones for a little less. They have a few scratches, but a quick rub down and a blast of paint, would have them looking new again.
I've had 5 clio 182's now, my current one is fitted with a Janspeed ktec system as above. It's only 2.25 inch diameter (they did a 2.5 inch diameter version called an ultra). It's definitely the best sounding exhaust I've had.
Currently fitted with a decat which makes them quite a bit louder...
No help to you, but i always wonder how people afford/justify running multiple cars.
When i had my MR2 i had a multi car policy with Aviva with my Clio 182. The MR2 was basically standard and the clio had the usual mods all declared, total for the year for me was £550. Annoyingly at the time a...
I'll be selling some Recaro Evo 8 Seats (Blue), with Jon Foz lower mounts once everything has settled down a bit. They fit really well and give much better support.
I'm fitting some mk1 mx5 seats on the X-Low subframes as a temporary solution (possibly permanent if i like them), until i get a...
I've had 5 182's now, usually change for something that's suppose to be better and more grown up, etc. But miss the little Clio, so sell up and buy another.
I was a little disappointed with the test drive on my current 182, coming from a Z4 3.0i (but i even had this coming from a 200 bhp diesel...
Depending on the service history, I'd say the price is about right to be fair for a well looked after 182 in any colour. At least as a starting point.
Saying that my last BG only sold for £2.2k. That also had spax coilovers. But I think a clock change reduced the value, it also had a few...
That page has been going for years, yet as far as I'm aware there has not been a new RS2 sold in that time.
I sold mine for around £850. And to be honest the car felt better with the standard intake and fatty induction.
If you're at 190bhp now, a RS2 isn't going to give you any noticeable...
I've watched quite a few cars on copart, everything I've been remotely interested in has gone for silly money in my eyes, especially once factoring in the fees and vat, etc. Most cases you can find the same car on ebay/gumtree/facebook for similar money, without the commitment to buy without...
Aviva have been the cheapest for me and the wife's cars the last few years by a decent amount. The Clio 182 with all mods declared was £250 the first year, then around £300 the second year. Greenlight and sky, etc all wanted around £550-600 last time i checked for the 182. It was actually...
Unless you're quite short, i'd definitely use Jon Foz X-Low frames. He's also very helpful before and after sales, and has been selling on this forum and many others for a good number of years.
He's got a thread up on here with the product detailed and loads of pictures with different seats...
Awesome, that's pretty much what i'd hoped to hear to be honest. As said i was much happier with fresh AD08R last winter than a set of PS3 with 5+mm thread left, so provided they're pretty similar, i'll be more than happy.
Kwikfit were the cheapest i could find, but also had 15% off until...
Don't think i'll be tracking the car anytime soon. My main concern was grip in the winter months to be honest. I've no doubt the dry grip in the summer months will be better than any normal tyre in 195/50/15.
I tried a set of ps3 last winter that had around 5+mm thread left on a spare set of...
Decided to just buy them. Listed as AD08R on kwikfit, but I expect them to be AD08RS. Fitted price was £239 with the 15% discount code they've got running.
Was tempted by the new Rainsport 5's, or Hankook Prime 3. But I think I'd miss the Yoko's in the drier months
Realised my AD08R are down to 2mm rear and 3mm front. Not ideal this time of year and explains my grip issues in the wet recently.
Has anyone tried the new AD08RS yet? Seems they've changed the compound to to suit new regulations. Only seen a few comments on them up to now, but don't seem that...
Forgot I'd not replied to this.
Honestly, it's not quite as powerful as I'd hoped. But it's probably fine for 95% of the bolts I'd need to undo on the car to be fair. And most of the bigger stuff is easy accessable with a breaker bar anyway.
It will undo a wheel bolt for example, unless it's...
Pretty sure they're only available in 17"+. I've got a set on my wife's golf, and they're pretty good all round. I'd love to be able to get decent tyres like these for the 182
I've never been a fan of Rainsport 3, too soft and wear rate is rubbish. I got 4k miles out of a pair of fronts on a 182 running 15's
Have you looked at Hankook Prime 3 K125? I was going to throw a set of these on my MR2, but sold it in the end. Seem to get decent reviews, and tests seem to...
@TRB182
What size centre silencer did you have installed mate? gives me a better idea of what to order myself.
I'll measure up to double check before ordering something, but i'm looking at either 4" or 5" diameter, and either 14" or 18" long. Leaner more towards 4" and 14" long
Cheers
Cheers mate, that does sound like it's made a big difference. Is that still running with the decat?
I'm going to get the CAT sorted first and work from there. If i end up getting a centre box, i'll have to have a full replacement pipe added, as I'll intend to revert back once i can have another...
It's just too loud every day for an hour each way to be honest. If it was fun driving then it'd be fine, but 95% of my journey is either bumper to bumper queuing or 40-50mph roads with average speed camera. it's a little over 20 miles.
I've had 182's before with decats, and they've not been...
This is what i was looking at. They seem to get pretty decent reviews for performance too, and if it did fail it'd be cheap to replace.
Is the 2.5" the internal dia for these. I'm wondering if i could clamp a 2.5" decat pipe to either side for ease (or at least temporarily).
Well the PMS CAT isn't a direct fit, as my system is a 2.25" system and the CAT is 2.5", but that's fairly easy to sort with a reducer. It just looks like the cat is kinked slightly. But i'm guessing if the exhaust system works with a standard Cat, then the sports cat should line up.
This was...
