are you running a manual rack or a 16v rack packed with grease
don't really want to put a manual rack in as they have more turns lock to lock
and no coolant temp guage?! :0 ... thats kinda risky? i take it the fan still cuts in like its meant to?
would need mk2 clocks wouldnt it?
good point about the PAS, not though about that, cant you just connect the mk1 rack to the mk2s pump?
now aircon... thats something else! :D
great
i'll use ph1 172 loom, ph1 172 'box (or cup, but I cant see many of those coming up for sale.. although it is winter ;)) and then any old F4R i can get my mitts on
fed up of looking for F7Rs and the pricetag that comes with the williams label
and Dan, unlucky! :D i want a passenger ride...
So if I were looking to put one in a mk1, I would be able to use any engine block and a ph1 gearbox (with the cable) or the cup gearbox (again, JC5 with a cable speedo - same as the mk1s)
but, if I were to get a ph2 gearbox, the mk1's ABS probably wouldnt work with the mk2's ecu, and I...
Is there any difference in 172 ph1/ph2 and 182 engines
i.e. do they all use the same gearbox (or atleast the same mountings)?
what about the loom?
also, do these blocks have senders for oil pressure and temp?
lol at this thread
you have far too much free time mark ;)
i think the reasons have been said already, suspension take up and the fact that the wheel being measured was not done at the same height - whack a board on the pallet truck (and maybe an extra one under each wheel if the pallet...
cant say i ever feel like that
and i've spun a few times ;) But normally when giving it waaay too much stick - in general 'spirited' driving its great!
I'm really impressed with the results - turned my ripply door with about 8 dents on it to a nice smooth surface. He reckoned he could only get them out 80% - but I can't tell they're there, and I know the car so well lol
