So the plate on the left bolts to the 13mm bolt at the back of the boot floor. The clamp on the left then attaches to the plate with the circular rubber on the right inside creating the 2nd mount?
Am I far off?
Does anyone have pictures of the mounting points of their 172 backboxes? Since I had my new backbox fitted last week, it has slowly started to sag and drop to the right again. I can tighten the clamp but I think the problem will re-occur.
I have seen back boxes with two mount points, like...
I find that the Tesco 99 Ron is pants. The kick isn't anywhere near as strong and the fuel economy is between 4 and 5 mpg worse than on Optimax.
Just my 2p worth.
But 9hp is not 10% of 169hp is it?
I'm not doubting the figures they achieved, even though they are not unbiased nor are they independent.
The point I was trying to make was that no one should be under any illusion that a 172/182 will see TDI like increases in power just from a remap.
It does mate. The graph can be seen here.http://cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=99069&highlight=172+12

You wont get anything like 10% unfortunately. Pmurray did mine and I got 5bhp and 12 lb/ft. The drivability is much improved though so it is still well worth it.
The F4R is notoriously difficult to get power out of and that applies to mapping/chipping as well.
Currently buying in some bits for my 36k service on my 172.
I want to have the brake fluid and power steering fluid changed as well as the coolant.
Which viscosity of brake fluid would you advise, dot 4 or 5?
What about power steering fluid, are there varying levels as with brake fluid...
What I think Scott means is he used different grades of wet and dry during the preperation. Sand paper or glass paper as it is now known would chew the wheels up in no time.
The wet and dry is used on a block but mainly by hand on wheels and allows a good smooth keying surface.
Pedantic I know...
After the fiasco of my Cobra backbox falling off 2 days ago, I contacted Custom Piped in Doncaster who fitted the system originally and took the bits to be repaired/repalced.
All I can say is what fantastic service. I wasn't the original purchaser of the exhaust but no questions were asked...
My back plate is normal size. Didn't want to risk it if police were following me. I don't theink small plates look particularly good on the back either.
I have the receipt and the old owners name and contact number. I am going to blag it and say I am the original owner but I have also spoken to Andy who had the car before me and he says he will come with me to take it in if need be.
I have the receipt which is literally a page of a4 with a...
