I don't
£1400 for jenveys with throttle linkage, manifold and air filter
close to £1000 for omex 600 and loom
and £600 for mapping
I know, i've done it myself too, but i couldn't help myself and went the whole hog, cams, pistons rods etc!
Re: Valver Track Car Project Thread
Take everything you read or hear wth a pinch of salt.
Tank slapping at 80mph isn't gonna be heathy with pas or not.
if you have driven a non pas car and compared it with a pas (same car model) you will notice after about 20 mph there is hardly any...
Scott, i have 215/40 16 on my cup, width isn't a problem, however the profile is a bit to big. It'll cause you not to accellerate as quick and your speedo will underread
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
gravel traps are nasty places, that's why i like airfield traks, maybe a bit boring, but only grass to run off to. This has definately made me think again about doing proper trackdays, unless i can make sure that don't happen to me. gutted for you.
Daz
I track my cup and have 240bhp too to stop, i'm running braided lines, mintex black brake fluid, mintex rear standard discs with 1144's, brembo high carbon front disc with mintex 1155. no fade, bite from cold. very happy.
you will not get change out of £500 for a decent setup.

Spend the money on standard rear end stuff or mintex standard stuff and get brembo H/C disks up front with decent pads eg...
These are the cheapest discs you can buy, put on a milling machine, then sold to boy racers at a huge mark up. do not buy them, they are absolute rubbish and wear out really quick due to not being designed to be milled!
(ps I had some and promptly took them off when i kept having problems...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
I've just looked at your photos on the previous page, and compared your valver head photo with your "timed" willy head. may be nothing but the lobe relationship between inlet and exhaust will be similar "by eye" on each cylinder and your's aren't.......
willy head, look...
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
Are the dizzy's the same too? could the keyways of the cams be different? It would fire, but run crap if there was a compression problem, unless it was zero compression!
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
Sounds to me like your timing is out. Double check that the rotor arm is pointing at no1 spark lead and no1 cylinder is near tdc. I know you said you checked the timing and leads, but may have something to do with willy cams and valver pulleys / dizzy. IIRC my old valver...
Me, and i thought f**k it when i bought it! Lol
Also due to the curve on the bonnet that was the only place to fit aero catches, flush or not, as i only have 1/2 a slam panel
