Depends what you class as not to expensive. About £50 a corner each from renault . . . or you could got koni yelllow route, there about £100 each for rear. Depends on your budget really. Or you can wait a couple of weeks and ill have a full set of oe shocks off my cup up for sale ;)

As your mate said, bearing may just not of been quite in properly, therefore when you tightened the nut it pressed it in that little bit more. It would only be possible for it to be about 1-2mm from being in fully mind other wise the circlip wouldnt go in
not from experiance but from what ive heard its easyier dust to clean off, and no there better then that on 14miles, takes about 3days for mine to get like that, about 40miles
I find ds2500 dusty compared to standard. Yes they give great stopping power and dont take as much warming up as carbon lorraines. These not bad for dust
