theres no other way for the bearing to be supported and sat flush without the ast top hat, and you have no choice but to use the oe top hat. Im pretty sure the bearing would destroy itself if put straight onto the oe top hat as its lipped to sit in the ast top hat
put mine on koni adjustables today.
not impressed with the new recessed nut at all, and there not the best to work out how to fit on oe style dampers. Ow and they have raised the front of mine by about 10mm. Guess they only lower the car more on coil overs
need help from anyone whos fitted ast top mounts to anything but coil overs. Its urgent as my cars in bits next to me as we speak.
Rite the OE metal cap/top hat goes on top of the spring then I have what I can see as too possible ways of fitting the asts . . . .
1. Use the OE chunky rubber...
disconnect fuel line where it joins injector rail and see if fuel comes out when you put ignition on . . . might want to put it in a bottle or something to stop it pissing everywhere
I've heard of fuel pump fuses popping before . . . check that too
Im running white 2118's on my cup, am starting to miss my turini's a bit. But think thats just because they take a hell of a lot more cleaning. Looks wise for yours I prefer the anthracite 2118's against anthracite turini's
