Where did you get that? As it's b****cks. SDRAM sticks won't go into DDR slots due to the keys is them but physically DDR and DDR2 are so close that they'll fit - I've done a test.
No, IIRC Centrino Duo started with Intel 945-series chipsets. The F20 runs 915 so you'll only be able to upgrade to a higher speed Pentium M. It is in these cases where unfortunately replacement is the only way of improving performance vastly. Where the OP has the option to go from a Celeron...
Actually the bad thing is that DDR2 would fit it would just make a horrible smell and nothing would work afterwards...
VERY bad thought on someone's part in designing it.
Processors are a fixed size. You're actually a fair way from the truth - the insides now tend to be fairly standard (bar motherboard) - the memory is now a standard fit, as is processor, and the Wi-Fi/3G expresscards are the same. CD drives tend to be the same with a different bezel and the...

That'd do as an improvement as the 3650 only ships with a Celeron M IIRC - that should run fine as long as you've got all the updates from...
Well it's not that difficult... I've done it to a Latitude D600, D610, D620, M65 Precision, Sony SZ2, Acer somethingorother, HP home laptop...
Usually fairly cheap to do as well.
Use a decent brand of AP (and a decent spec!) and use an Intel or decent brand card and you'll be fine. I use 3945abg and 4965bgn cards and they're perfect - never miss a beat. Forever I'm falling out with the cheap Dell cards. Not worth saving a tenner on...
Send the OS back for 32-bit. Unless you're running >5Gb RAM then the additional overhead of a 64-bit OS is going to detract from the performance of the machine.
16mb memory? 32 according to mine... and 1Gb M2 included, 2megapixel camera but f**k me, that's why I buy cameras. Does video calls and decent speed 3G (UMTS) = 3.6meg downloads at peak... Is perfect for going with your ultraportable laptop, who needs built in 3G...?
Love mine to bits...
Bored of these threads now, I'm sure someone asks about a 'good, cheap laptop for browsing and going on MSN' every week, and every week the same person mentions the same websites. And to top it off every single thread doesn't give a price bracket... Which is really helpful.
4x disk shelves with redundant controllers... 4x10k 300Gb disks in each at the moment with plans to expand another 4 in each in the next couple of months for another service we've got, with a backup server (DL140) and a 3U 16 Terabyte array underneath it...
You have to authorise your computer. It's part of making sure you don't buy it and give it to your mates, which is fair enough IMO and iTunes store tops any WM protected content...
Exchange recommendations are two array controllers, one running a mirror for the OS and a seperate RAID5 for the mailboxes.
However, with 30 mailboxes I'd say that as long as you had decent throughput you could have one big array and partition that...
HP EVA vRAID FTW...
The vista 929777 fix for 3Gb is for machines using the storport.sys subsystem. If you're not running in AHCI or RAID mode on the board then you won't be...
Vista 64 BSODs with 4Gb ram in in some instances. However it may be a faulty stick of RAM - I had 3 of a set of 4 OCZ sticks that were dead and causing my machine not to post.
SP1 does make a fairly large difference... 500 3DMarks in my instance! (06). Now running ~16000 which is astonishing for a single GPU setup on water. Thinking of moving to Peltier cooling but will need to make a new GPU block for that!
Slow. Get a proper processor. Single core 2.2ghz is ALWAYS going to be pants, and your graphics card is truly wasted on it.
See above for my spec of my laptop, also running it on a 2Gb/2.33Ghz D630 Dell and that's fine, but the piece de la resistance is the desktop I run it on.
4Gb 1400Mhz...
Far from sh1t for the money but still sh1t. No amount of memory will make up for the fact that you're running a 1.4Ghz processor! It will run XP Pro fine and SP3 will see it fly, but I don't think Vista is worthwhile on it! You bought a cheap laptop, you're about to learn why you shouldn't...
